Fuzz pedals that don't agree with active basses.

Yup. Woolly Mammoth is Fuzz Face based and drops all the low end with a buffered signal going into it.

Anything based on a Big Muff will fine. They are the most common types of fuzz, anything else could a bit hit and miss.

Thing is, this question is impossible to answer. There are so many pedals out there that sound very different with active basses, but sometimes it is a good different! There are not too many pedals out there that flat out don't work with actives, but that's half the fun of searching for the right fuzz!

This! I found the Colorsound Bass Fuzz sounded amazing, but didn't really like my active bass through it, so I took the actives out of my bass... sometimes you just know. :)

I'd really like to hear my Frantone - Lo Tone on an active bass. It's actually for sale on here at the moment because my passive p basses just don't quite get the fuzz ticking over alone.

But what I have found is that if I ride the input of my compressor (first in signal chain) it does great great things to the fuzz, it sounds amazing!

I wonder if the signal from an active bass would single handedly get this awesome fuzz tone from the pedal? I suspect so..
