JamesBass Posted November 25, 2013 Share Posted November 25, 2013 So I've just bought myself a P Bass, thanks lushuk!, and I fancy changing the pickups in it to get an even wider tonal option available to me. A guitarist friend of mine recommended At The Creamery, has anyone ever come across their pickups? Iheartreverb Posted November 25, 2013 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Haven't had them but I can't rave about him enough. Loads of unusual things as well as improved versions if classics. Spoken to him a few times about pickups for my Ric copy, really good guy. He will also custom voice things for you if they need a tweet from standard and has recently had his pickups fitted into guitars for some pretty big bands including Matt from muse and Alex from Franz Ferdinand. He's going to be either reconditioning the existing pickups or making replacements in the same style for a Jolana D Bass: It's a thirty year old Czech made Rickenfaker, currently having a new truss rod fitted by Jack's Instrument Services. I've heard great things about his guitar pickups but was wondering what his bass pickups were like. Any other similar brands I should be looking towards? ash Posted November 26, 2013 Share Posted November 26, 2013 He rewound a Rickenbacker pickup for me and sorted out the wiring harness, good price, good guy to deal with, although it wasn't the quickest service it provided good results. Fast service too. I am also looking next year to get some [b]Creamery[/b] Jag pick-ups as he seems to have many models and also checking [url="http://www.mojopickups.co.uk/"][b]Mojo[/b][/url] for some Mustang-style pick-ups for my Fender Bullet (the weird '80s one). Nice to see so many UK makers to choose from and support.
