Blending signals - little mixer rather than 'blend pedal'

Been experimenting with reamping recently and really like my tone with:

Clean - Catalinbread SFT - Ashdown Hyperdrive

running parallel.

I've had a look at the blending pedals like the Badger Schism but they seem quite expensive. If I can make a pedalboard that protects it what are the potential pitfalls of using a mini mixer like

to blend the signal?

Any recomendations for micro mixers appreciated!

I'm want to combine 3 signals; clean, OD1 and OD2 rather than switch between loops...

With the LS-2 you can combine clean and something else (OD1 or OD2), but not all three separately... so no good in this case.

Two LS-2??? :P

Can you do schematic for Clean + 1 + 2 blender? I can solder but the theory behind it all escapes me...

Cheers!

Do you mean splitter & mixer or just a 3 channel mixer?

4 channel mixer with a handful of components:

You could sub a TL072 with an NE5532 if you were really fussy, but the 72 is a very clean sounding chip.

This looks like what I want:

When I 'reamp'* with the two pedals I have to reverse the phase on the blended returns so guessing I also need independent phase reversal switches for each channel?

*to clarify that's using dry recorded signal routed output 3 + 4 on MOTU 828 go to inputs on SFT and Ashdown and back into MOTU input 3 + 4 (no master output). Input 3 + 4 phase reversed and then all three (original dry/SFT/Ashdown) combined on an external bus channel which outputs to the master 1 + 2.

I used this to make a 2 channel mixer on my pedal.

You can add or remove a channel to suit.

Splitting the audio is a simple case of taking 3 jack sockets & wiring it from 1 to 2 (no buffering needed). I can't find a schematic, but I can sketch you one late if you need it.

Here's a handy web...

You don't need a mixer to blend 3 signals (SFT + Ashdown + clean) since the Ashdown already has a clean blend. I'd just use an LS-2, then if you need more clean volume just turn down the blend and increase the volume on the Ashdown.

But I'm gonna throw a spanner in the works now - the SFT inverts the phase so you'd end up with a volume drop and strange sound when mixed evenly since the two signals cancel each other out. To remedy this you can put another cheap pedal that inverts the phase again, such as the EHX LPB-1 next to the SFT, or you could use something like the Wounded Paw Super Blender which has phase switches.

changing the phase is how out of sync the wave is to the original (a phaser does this just to varying amounts set to an oscillator) what the poroblem here is that the phase has been inverted by 180 degrees, that that needs to be inverted.

here is an example of different degrees of phase:

What changing the wires over on the lead does is create a ground loop, this can lead to noise issues. If you've ever had a active DI, this is what the ground lift tries to avoid.
