Guys,

I'm looking to buy a Fender P-bass but is this too good to be true?
For £180 it must surely be a copy like the advert suggests may be the case. I'm far from knowledgeable about this so would really appreciate a view; without being gazumped :)

The things that jump out at me are using the "style" cop-out in the main headline, the legendary "kept in the loft" scenario and it being kept with others, none of which were being used.
I'd avoid on the grounds that they've already tried it on; unless others here, there are many Fender experts, can name you a few questions that would nail it for certain.

you could get a new squier affinity series for that price and a VM for only a wee bit more

the grain colouration in the fretboard looks bizarre - would expect the quality control at fender/squier to be a more consistent colour across the wood

all you P fanboys out there... anybody else think the body shape looks slightly 'close but not quite there' ?

Thanks guys, I knew it was somewhat dubious.
I found this other bass on ebay too but I'm such a GAS newbie I think I'll stick to buying through this site.

There's also something about the shape of the head that doesn't ring true to me.

Yep.

Plus, with the ease of which the internet can be used, how can someone consider putting up a musical instrument for sale without getting a rough idea of its worth. Unless they know it`s a wrong-un, that is.
