Concentric knobs that look like standard Jazz bass knobs?

I'm considering adding the J-Retro01 I have in my drawer to my new Jazz.

I'd really like to keep it looking like a Jazz, 'though. I have seen somewhere stacked concentric knobs that look much like the original Jazz knobs but I can't find them now.

Anybody knows where I could get them?

Do you mean the black fluted ones? I got some for the EMG pre on my 70s Jazz, it took a while to find them but they are a genuine Fender part. I had to order them from the US in the end as I couldn't find them over here, and they were expensive! The only problem is, the shafts on the pots are not the same size as the J-Retro, in the end I left the J-Retro ones alone on my fretless as I couldn't find anything to fit them.

Yes, those ones!
Ah, so they won't fit the J-Retro shafts :(
What a shame.
Thank you for the disappointing but useful nevertheless news.

They're plastic, IIRC, wouldn't it be pretty easy to ream them out a touch for the East pots?

Sorry for re-hashing an old thread but I was interested in doing the same with my fretless jazz. Ordered the Fender concentric knobs from the States which cost around £35 for the three inc shipping & broker fees etc The ebay seller was musicpartsguru. I expected to have to ream them out a touch to fit the East pot shafts and I wasn't surprised to find that this was indeed the case. This would have been better being done in a lathe but I only have a cordless drill, a selection of drill bits and some allen keys. Anyway, found the nearest drill size, stuck the knobs in a vice and hey presto - job done.

Nice! I once planned on doing the same with the Audere preamp that I had in my Jazz, but in the end I replaced the pre with the original passive electronics because I didn't really touch that bass anymore after I had 'upgraded' it. The shafts on the Audere were too thick as well.

Mr Zed, thanks - good to see such a constructive and helpful post. I too dislike the look of the J Retro knobs and the solution detailed (and very well photographed) is an excellent one

Thank you for your kind words lozbass. I'm a stickler for detail and basses (and my other passion motorbikes) just have to look and function right. There is no question that the chrome knobs that come with the East are better quality than the Fender items but, to me, a Jazz should look like a Jazz. I'm happy with the look now.
