Been a while since the last one. Time for some huge low end and prog' madness...

Todd Wood is the bass-man with Midlands-based prog' favourites Alright The Captain.

Alright The Captain have carved a name for themselves in the UK/Euro progressive rock scene over the last few years with a reputation for being LOUD, nasty & noisy and for gigging constantly. If there was ever a band you had the chance to check out live, ATC is the one, with more gigs played each year than almost any other originals act around. ATC have a reputation for something else as well - Huge, dirty bass sounds. In fact huge is an understatement.

Check out what Todd had to say about his set up and sound...

I'm very excited to present to you Bob Chidlaw, the man responsible for the sound design and development of Source Audio's range of innovative effects.

Bob Childlaw is a man with a varied technical background and huge love of vintage amplifiers and effects. So how does this background relate to creating genre defining digital effects?

Have a look at what Bob has to say about it all...

May I present to you Tom George of COG Effects.

COG are a relatively new company based in the UK, making high quality, hand wired pedals. Being a new face to the market has not stopped Tom's pedals making quite a splash with both guitarist and bassists alike.

Have a look at what Tom had to say about his background and bringing his designs to the market.

thanks shep,
this was really great.
The pedal maufacturer interviews don't give me so much, but this was a great insight ni the live USE of fx and especially of the GR-55 that I'm also playing around with.
I only wish there would have been a little more deeper insights into his patches and toneshaping.

Yeah - I think delving into the specifics of programming the GR-55 is a technical manual waiting to happen. I imagine Gary would need a year to write that out! :)

It's certainly an interesting bit of kit. There are some videos on YouTube that he did for Roland with the VB-99 that are quite in-depth, but even they only scratch the surface.

May I present James Brown of Amptweaker. A man with a long history in the audio industry. A history which has been focused on tone since the very beginning.

James's background within the audio industry has been based around developing equipment which delivers the goods for guitarists all over the world but now his passion is directed toward Amptweaker, creating pedals packed with years of industry expereince and insight. One word... TONE.

Oh man, this is cooool. The tightmetal is one of the best guitar distortions out there, imo.
