Roscoe LG Signature V

Lol.

Yes guys, it arrived this morning. Put it through it's paces today at a rehearsal. Utterly blown away. It's tiny and sounds massive. The punch is amazing. Balance on a strap is perfect for me and the reach is ideal.

I'm utterly blown away.

Russ - the ramp was designed and made by one of the guys at Roscoe HQ (Ryan I think, but don't quote me on it). I'd seen an after market ramp added to the LG slanted pups in the past that looked like a 3rd pup (so it was angles at the top and bottom the same). I showed them the pic and this is what they came up with... The same concept except it gives me a flat edge to rest the thumb on of Im playin the E. It's very comfy and super gloss smooth. Lovely.

Just packing up and loading up now for the tour. See you all on the 28th! :)

Got some WiFi T Music City in Antwerp. Amazing venue & amazing gig.
Thought I'd pop on to say the bass is stunning. 3 shows in and playing has been totally effortless with really punchy even tone all over the neck. My shoulders and back hurt less than normal even though I'm moving gear more often too.
Very happy.

Show 4 is Luxembourg tomorrow so an early start is in order :(

Home from the tour and I have to say - this bass got better and better everyday. My shoulders and neck feel like I've not played bass once and the tone is to die for. I can't put it down. So so happy.

Here are some photo's I took under the typically grey UK daylight:

Oh thats horrid, it doesnt go with live drum'n'a'bass style music at all.

Luckily for you I'm here to point out the error of your ways for you, and by means of payment for this happy circumstance and free advice you can send me that terrible looking bass, I shall PM you the address forthwith.....

She's an absolute stunner Shep. really glad the shorter scale and E-C has worked out for you and gotten around the muscle/tendon/pain issues :)

Yeah it's certainly looking like it's been a great move for me. Time will tell but initial reports are 100% positive!

This bass has worked out to be everything I wanted. My shoulders and back are like new and it has a feel and tone to die for. It's amazing to think that the bulk of the pain I was experiencing was down to playing a bass scale which was too long for me!

Anyway, small addition to the bass today... Custom Buckeye knobs...

They are a pretty good match and well made. They look slightly off as they have an unfinished/Matt appearance (no oil or clear coat)... So I'd like to get them finished high gloss like the bass if possible in the near future.

The knobs have been the biggest thing. Not being able to make contact with the pots has cured all static sounds.

Well glad its all sorted dude :)

I had a hunt around and to get buckeye ones it looked to be expensive and down to just a few places in the US (at least that advertise the fact!). I noticed on eBay a guy selling decent looking knobs in a huge range of woods, from Pau Ferro to Rosewood etc and his prices were a quarter (or less) than the big names.

I emailed him and he had some Buckeye in stock. It's trickier to work with than most but still only charged me ($7.50/knob plus $7 shipping - general knobs he does on eBay are around $5 each wood depending). Took a week from order to delivery. eBay seller name is brianwilliams5. Very helpful and a great quality result.

Oh cheers!

Very tempted to get some swamp ash ones, reckon they would be very nice, or something a bit darker so they dont look they are trying to hide :D.

How does he cope with stacked knobs? They always seem a tad complex to find in wood at a reasonable price...

I don't know - I've never ordered any :) Fire him a message via eBay.
