ROConnell
Hi all, Replacing my tuners on my Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass 2011. I have Hipshots in mind, however I have no clue at all what would fit. I know there's other brands but Hipshots are quite cheap and have been recommended. Anyone know if their tuners can be directly fitted on? If Hipshot don't do any, does anybody know of any other direct replacements? Cheers. They do direct Fender replacements, in fact they make the current USA Standard Fender tuners. I would think the HB7s are what you want http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?...etail&p=261 but email Hipshot, they are very good at answering questions. I get all my Hipshot stuff that way. I just looked though and chrome are not available as a set.
LiamPodmore
I emailed them about my old Squier and they reccomended the HB7's so that would be my guess. Liam
silentbob
Have you looked at the Gotoh GB-4N tuners. I have these on my P and have just bought a second set for my next project. I tend to put d-tuners in most of my basses, and buying on eBay from the US works out at around used price her... but I get them new and I don't have to wait until the exact one I want comes up. neepheid
What's bugging you about the tuners which are currently there?
Romeo2
Hello BCers, I'd like to put Hipshot's Ultralites in my Sq VM PJ, simply because the body is light and it does not balance that great. Which ones will fit- HB6 1/2" or 3/8"? Also, you mentioned that buying form US ebay seems to work. No duty tax etc.? Can you recommend a seller on ebay? Thanks!
Yep, ordered mine direct from these guys as they're not on eBay anymore. I got a 5 string set posted to my door for £60 all in. No customs etc but maybe I got lucky. It is the 1/2" tuners you need by the way: http://www.sporthitech.com/hipshot-ultralite-lic-hb6c-1-2-bass-tuners-4-string-4-inline-2x2-etc-satin-chrome/

Romeo2
The tuners arrived today. They've definitely improved how the bass balances. Very happy, and at half the UK price - which is a shame, really.
