LukeFRC Posted September 16, 2011 Share Posted September 16, 2011 bout wrong with neck through, there must be differences but I struggle to work them out. sustain is no different to my JV p bass, supposedly NT has slower attack... offset by a maple body! and maybe some of the mids are compressed differently.... but no different in terms of difference to having ash vs alder body.... It sounds awesome!! I always loved my Spector (even though its a cheaper NS2000 model) but the clarity and tone from the warwick blew me away! This could be the start of a very long relationship! A nice Warwick always reminds me of Scarlett Johannson, in that I probably shouldn't stare at it for quite so long, especially when my girlfriend's next to me! Thankfully, there seems to be a glut of cheap 2nd hand basses on here. I'm tempted to get a loan and stock up on a few for a few years time when you can't get hold of them and people remember what great basses they are! I currently play a Streamer Pro-M, paid £400 for it and couldn't be happier. Plays really nice and I've had nothing but complements from recording engineers on the sound. DrB Posted October 2, 2011 Share Posted October 2, 2011 ok let me chip in here regarding the talk about warwick...................................Warwick basses from 10 or even 20 years ago are significantly different to what you would purchase now.Warwick has 3 ranges Rock bass(china) Pro series(korea) and the Warwick made in germany range. Having owned over 15 warwick over the years it is quite impressive what is being produced in the other countries it allows us as consumers to purchase a Warwick at a fair price The quality on some of the Chinese and Korean stuff is as really good as my original streamer bolt on in cherry wood from 1997 !!! As for the german made stuff well 10 years ago warwick was like a bmw expensive mid end but fantastic,now warwick german basses are Ferraris not everyone can afford one but if you can then you will receive a very special instrument,they are flawless.I recently purchased a custom shop bass 4 string corvette$$ and i even got to see the wood before it was made(not sure if this was a bit of luck:) my point is if you compared my new weapon against my old warwick its like the car comparisson!!! As for the dealer situation i hope they resolve that so you can test the range before parting with any hard owned dosh unless you do know the range! any how im new on here hello...................... [/quote] You do get special treatment if you go for a Custom Shop bass, and yes, getting to see the wood before hand seems to be common for CS customers. Unfortunately it's not an option otherwise.
