1. Now sold. Pair of nice lightweight (ish) great sounding Aguilar cabs with Roqsolid covers. One has a horn, and one doesn't. Both are 8ohm. Bought from @molan back in 2011, so they have good basschat provenance. My understanding is that they were always a pair. I added the covers and have only lightly gigged them since. Still love them, but they're not being used and I'm planning a house move, so time to move them along. Both are in good condition with minimal wear and tear, just the usual working scuffs and carpet ruffle you'd expect from 10 year old cabs. I've noticed the covers have a few light marks from being sat up next to the wall. Photos include visible damage to one of the Aguilar badges. Open to reasonable offers, and willing to ship, meet in Bristol area, or drive and meet somewhere on the M4 or M5 corridors.
2.
Barefaced make some very small (yet powerful) cabs. I don't currently own one, before I get accused of fanboi-ism.
I obviously hear good things around these parts, but they're just so damn ugly
3.
Without sounding smart or cheeky is there anyway you can stack them end on end and hide them in a corner, or use them as a coffee table ,
I already have them stacked up on end - and that would be fine if they were in regular use. It just seems a waste of space when I'm not putting both to regular use (and have no prospect of doing so). The Markbass NY 121 looks pretty nifty - that's an option I'd not spotted before.
4. Having not played bass outside the house for the last 2 years, I'm looking at downsizing my rig. I currently have a pair of Aguilar GS 112s that I use with a Markbass F500. The cabs take up a reasonable chunk of our small living space for the use they get. I've been thinking about switching to a single SL 112, thinking that'd both be a nice upgrade in quality, and save me some space. Does that sound crazy to you guys? I know Markbass also do some nice small cabs - a 1x12 and a 2x10 - any thoughts on these? I've not really got a good question to ask, just looking for some ideas I guess! Drew.
5. Sold a Trace combo to Mark. Nice and easy, good communication, and what a nice guy. Thanks Mark!
6. I've dropped the asking price to £150, and I'm still open to offers.
7. Ok, sounds good. I'm happy to work with you, but I'd like to shift it before Aug if possible
8. I've had no problems with it at all, even with a 5 string Streamer. It's as solid as a rock. Waiting until August isn't attractive - I really need the space back (moving house!).
9. (This was listed for sale a while back, agreed to sell it to a friend, for issues unrelated to the amp that never happened. So it's back here for sale again!)
10. 1991 pre-Gibson Series 6 GP7 715S, which I believe is 200 watt into 4 ohms. It has a single 8 ohm speaker internally with output for a second. There's a bit of a thread about it here: http://basschat.co.u...-name-that-amp/ Single 15inch, 7 band graphic, classic old Trace tone. It's got a few cosmetic knocks and bumps, as you'd expect of after 21 years. This amp can legally drink in the USA. It's located in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Happy to try and work out shipping options, if necessary. I know this stuff isn't all that fashionable at the moment, but it's bloomin' good. Looking for [s]£200[/s] £150, but open to offers. (Widget the cat not included).
11. Remember to take a gas soldering iron, as an electric one won't work in a power cut, and then you'll never get that headstock reattached.
12.
Thinking about those questions, I think it is because I dig in more live so I can hear myself. Thinking back to last night I was really hammering the strings.. Perhaps time to relax a little more?
I was going to suggest exactly this. I do the same. If I can't hear myself well, I tend to both dig in harder and tense up because I stress out a bit. As a result, my arm is a mess and I can't play properly.

Epiphone EB-0

Just bought one of these for my daughter to learn to play on, after she was making good progress with a Sue Ryder but couldn't stand the physical size and weight of a full bass. (Sitting practising, she'd have to stop due to a dead leg! Kids these days.) I wanted her to get the short scale Squier Jaguar, as that seamed the lighter and better sounding bass (was quite tempted to get one for me, too!) but the SG looks of the EB-0 won her over. I figure then when you're starting out, better to have an instrument that you really like and want to play than a better one that gathers dust in the corner. Seems like a nice little bass. Sounds a bit wooly, but some people go for that. I hadn't actually noticed any neck dive, but I'll watch out for that.
14. Don't feel bad about demanding it's right when you're parting with that much cash. Nothing to feel bad about at all. You shouldn't have to be doing their QA for them, especially after such a long wait.
15. I see my attempt at humour flew under the radar
16. I'm sure both retailers are great, but man alive, they both have terrible websites. http://www.bassmerchant.com/ http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/ On the basis of their sites, I'd go with Bass Direct, as they clearly list what they've got in stock. Bass Merchant seem to list every product from the suppliers they carry, without indication of what they may or may not have stock of.
17. I do love my LX5. It's a magical, magical instrument. Took it into the studio for the first time last week and it just sounded phenomenal. (My playing still sounded crap, but you can't win 'em all!) More photos
