phil.i.stein Posted March 13, 2011 Share Posted March 13, 2011 o.k., i'm finally getting round to using my pc to create tracks, and need to get hold of some good source material for drum loops. problem is, there's so much stuff out there, i don't know where to start. i'm mainly looking for hip-hop, breakbeats, electro, and d'n'b loops, but a few classic led-zep type monsters too. anyone got any current favourite cd's/downloads to recommend ? [url="http://free-loops.com/"]http://free-loops.com/[/url] Just click on the title of the loop and a pop up box will appear for download Not just Drum loops, there is also one hits and other instrument loops and patches. Midi files and some free VST's, plus a whole load of other stuff to help you along. I think they are Acid loops, so they should just stretch to the tempo you are using. Also I had a great site with loads of free loop packs but I'm on a different machine right now. I'll try and remember. What software are you using? (which can be quite daunting in fact...). A few other tips: - Buy a copy of 'Computer Music' magazine (£6ish; made by the same publisher who runs the Music Radar website). It includes a cover disc that is normally jam-packed with drum loops and other samples - plus a bundle of useful software for playing them on. - Try making drum loops yourself! Seriously... it's actually a fun thing to do and personally speaking taught me a whole bunch of useful stuff about rhythm, which in turn has helped my bass playing.
