I bought it new for £749 from Thomann about 18 months ago, last of the Germans. Plays like a dream and sounds massive, lovely fretless tones. Fender Geddy Lee-like neck. Ash body, Ovankol neck. I'll be sad to see her go but hey, I don't play it much and I am GASing for a Jap Fender. I'll be happy with £350 if you're interested. Cheers, and good luck with your hunt. Any advise?[/quote] Asking that question you'll get every make and model under the sun suggested. But, here's a thought, have you considered buying a fretless version of your favourite fretted bass? bh2 Posted January 27, 2011 Share Posted January 27, 2011 +1 to that... I'm a Jazz bass guy so of course I'd recommend trying a Squier VMJ... the ones I've tried have been very nice. Would also make a great modding/replica project bass. I'm thinking... J-Retro, vintage tuners, tort guard, proper jazz bass knobs... a sort of monster squier copy of my own... oh well.
