Hi,
I'm from Sweden and just registrated to your nice community.
Most times I have tried to find an answer for questions regarding bass gear on line some of the first hits on my search engine have been the Basschat, so I thought this must be the place to be. :)

A few worlds about me...
Mid age+... got my first bass when I was 15, a Duke Jazz bass copy..heavy as hell for a young lad and with a not-so-good tone, but hey I got a bass and played it!!!

I shouldn't blame the cheap bass for my close to 25years absence... there is so many other other things in a young mans mind... but seven years ago I took up music again. Got me a bass and some electric guitars (mid-life chrisis?) and started playing with friends again. My main instrument except of harmonica (that I have played for the last 22 years) was guitar, and the bass was only for recording at home.

The bass that impressed most on me in my young years was the Aria Pro II and mainly the SB so I got me an APII, but an FB from -91. after a short while it was changed to an Ibanez Roadster from -79, a fantastic bass. Soon this had to go for an SB-900. The SB was great so it got company of a RSB-900 that is equal to the SB-1000 but with fe...r-ish headstock. I found the RSB to be a tad better so the SB left for an acoustic Olympia by Tacoma.
At this time I started playing bass in a band and as well with a gospel choir. Still my main instrument was the guitar but I really started enjoying playing bass again.
Remember that I had close to 25 years without playing music to recover. I had to explore all the gear that other guys in my age had tried over the most of their life time...and at 40 you can afford spending some money... so I started buying interesting guitars that seemed to be a bargain, played them and if they didn't fit or if I got GAS for something else I sold or traded them.. guys in my age often get the recommendations to put some money into the stock market...but if you are not interested at all and don't trust the market, why bother...my interest is guitars and instruments and today I got a collection of 25 guitars and basses...
It might look like I'm loosing the track but this was only to explain about the situation..
So after the Olympia I got track on a fretless SB-1000. This is a fantastic instrument and as the RSB a keeper.
I'm also having a Wasburn Vulture wing bass that is on ebay right now to be changed out for a five string and I have had a Yamaha BEX-4 hollowbody..
During the years my focus has shifted over and today my main instrument is bass. I'm now playing bass in two bands and guitar only at home or as a troubadour...
So after this belly button-ish speach... I just wanted to say hi!
