Quick question - what/who is HW? I've not been following the thread well enough and can't find the origin of it......

Harry White. He’s a skilled luthier banging out very good Ric copies to your own spec. Some say they are better than originals and cheaper too. I enquired a few years ago but didn’t go ahead as I’m a brand snob and couldn’t quite bring myself to pay a lot for a (very good) fake.

Picked this up from Bass Bros end of last week, I did trade in the G&L Trib M-2000 and a few pedals towards it, but will be paying my dear old Dad back the rest. 1992 4001V63, in great condition for its age, I was a bit concerned about the small amount of tail lift but it doesn't cause any issues playing wise. Wanted a Rick for a long long time they have such a distinctive sound and look so cool! This one plays lovely, the neck is nice and slim.

Only pic I have so far:

Had a very similar looking HW C64 years ago. That was such a great bass and sounded spot of with Rotosound flats. My current 4003 is on string set number 6 after a few years of searching for that "tone". I found it again with that same set of Rotosound flats.

Enjoy, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with your rather handsome new purchase !

Nice.

I'd be interested to know if that bridge setup is correct.

How do you mean? I've not touched it since I've had it, left it as it came from BB's.
