Clarky Posted November 22, 2010 Share Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) I bought this about three months ago from BassDirect for £539 (http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/TC_Classic_450.html) and it is essentially unused. Never left my house and barely even plugged in as I have used my MarkBass combo exclusively for the last 1-2 months. Has all original packaging etc. It falls into the camp of nice to have, but even nicer to have the cash (due to recent splurge on Eminence EUB). I could post to you for £440, a saving of £100 from new. Or hit me with your best offer. Im selling my LMII as its not used but will still keep my SA450 as my main head. I do quite fancy this TC head but if i brought it i would probably want to use it as my main amp. As i use my BDDI all the time now i think im ready for something with a bit more character, and this looks ideal. Its just a thought at the moment, i still need to move the LMII first. Cheers. Cheers.[/quote] Hi Dave I can chime in. The Classic/RH450 seems to have a really nice thick low mid 'meat' to it. It does sound quite different to the LMII/III. Id say its got a little more character to the tone, less 'flat' and more like a tradtional old school amp. It can also do the 'quick' sound of modern amps as its Class D, but with a different slant on it. The tone is warm, and the whole 'tube' amp idea is pulled off very well. BTW - It does sound stunning with a Jazz/Precision. You may find you dont use your BDDI as much as the onboard grit is quite nice especially at the sweetspot of about 10 o'clock. Muzz Posted December 3, 2010 Share Posted December 3, 2010 I can vouch for the TC sound - I had a LMIII and a Sansamp whcih I never turned off, and I've replaced it with a TC Classic (then quickly moved up to the RH450) because I could do all (and more) the LMIII/Sansamp was doing in one box.
