1.
I'd like to reiterate though that if you like it and it's a pukka Fender Japan you should be happy regardless of age.
Cheers and thank you for your reassuring words.. I've told him I'm not disputing it anymore, life's too short anyway...Told him to give £50 to Children in Need from the both of us and be done with it!
2.
Do you think you paid more for the item then you would have if it was from the late 90s? My personal experience with both made and crafted in Japan basses is that they are both generally excellent products. Also I wouldn't value a MIJ less than a CIJ or value it higher if it was older. If the bass is indeed a 75 reissue, of Japanese descent, in the condition it was made out to be in and you think you paid a fair price for it then there shouldn't really be any issue. Made in Japan from around 82 till 96/97 means it was made by fujigen, crafted in Japan means it was made by Dyna Gakki, not common before 97 as production hadn't completely changed hands, only some CIJ from earlier than 97 exist due to so,e Fujigen expansions that slowed production. Do you mind telling us what you paid? They reuse the numbers but a MIJ with an A is from 86/87 and a CIJ with an A is 96/97 All in all it's very confusing, some say this and some say that but it's hard to keep track and get proof.
Also many thanks for the info Prime bass

4.
How do, My name is Ant, and I'm a long time musician, first-time bass player. After 23 years behind the drum kit I've decided that the time was right to move on to a new instrument as I was no longer enjoying it. Seeing as I'm already one part of the rhythm section, I decided to see how the other half live. So I bought a very nice Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz bass (which I'm loving), and I'm now working on my technique. I'm determined to prove to myself, that even at the ripe old age of 37, you can still aim to learn and become proficient at a new instrument. So, watch this space...
SARGE.....drum splitter!
5. If redstriper doesn't buy the flatwound 5 string set I will. Ta.
6. You could replace "Sack barrow" with "keyboard players" in the description http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/sack-barrow/1079580661 Wish more adds could be as honest
7. Wish people would get to the point and not weigh us down with unnecessary information http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/sub/1075800333
8. Can't see on my phone, is it a 6.0 or a 6.2?

10.
Thanks Clem, Is it the exact same model? I can't seem to find any info on it.
Think so, I'll have a look....
11. I have one of these, I occasionally use it on bigger gigs. Has a great sound and surprisingly punchy mid range and decent top end condidering it's a 2x15. Think they were well over £500 new, got mine second hand from Trace Elliot after it had been on a promotional tour... Good luck with sale
12.
Hi guys, I took delivery of a carlsbro delta 300 head today and i cannot get it working. All the lights come on and when i turn the volume knob up the clip light comes on when i hit the bass strings but nothing comes out of the cab, i have tried two cabs neither were a success. i have connected cabs with both a speaker lead and tried an xlr lead but no joy. The only sound i can get out of it is a really low volume distorted bass signal when i tried running the speaker lead from the fx loop socket on the back of the amp to the cab when i did this, the volume knob has no impact on the volume but the gain knob does a little. Its a long shot anyone knowing what's up from my description but Im hoping someone may have some idea. Cheers Pete
You might have tried this but there is a mute button next to the volume Knob
13. Have you any pics... and what's the condition like?
14. Forgot to ask. Was it new when you bought it?
15. Hi. I am a professional bass player now on the look out for a new band/venture. I have been pro for 20 years and although in my 40s, passes for mid 30's (after midday!) I also play guitar (mainly acoustic and rhythm) and have strong backing vocals with a wide range. I have also done some lead vocals over the years and am happy to do some shared lead vox if needed. I have recording production experience and own my own studio. I also have experience with live sound and some technical skills (equipment repairs, guitar setups) which comes in useful. I have top pro gear, clean driving licence and am a non smoker and would say I'm easy going although professional in my attitude. Not looking for a fortune but payed gigs only please. Can travel within reason for one nighters and available to tour etc. My number is 07877 427045 Cheers Dave
16. Hope Santa brought you all lots if low end loveliness
17. Santa bring anything nice?
18. Argh. Not again. Please somebody buy this as I cannot afford a trip to Kent! Out gigging in Norwich and Coventry this weekend but no matter which way up I held the map couldn't make Kent move any further north!
19.
Could you please share a link to this website. I couldn't locate it. Thanks,
I realise I posted this somewhere into beer'o'clock and went from a Pino interview to a link for Joe Hubbard and eventually to here http://www.how-to-play-bass.com/pino-palladino.html I checked on Amazon and indeed they seem to be offered at sums of up to £150 or so. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pop-Basslines-Joe-Hubbard/dp/0825610907 Now trying to find the Pino interview, maybe I imagined that bit after one too many Pear Ciders! This could be someone oiling the system as it were, but if it's been out of print for some time you never know...
20. Just read an interview on Pino Palladinos website that mentioned a book I have containing some of his famous bass transcriptions, Joe Hubbards' Pop Basslines. Apparently they are like golddust and fetch up to $150 in the states !!! Blimey I could probably book an hours lesson WITH Pino for that kind of money ....Anyone else got a copy? Maybe we should we club together and save the third world???
21.
Clearly a man with good taste..............in both bass cabs and biscuits! (Flattery working.........?)
If this was in the area I'm sure i would have had it already, alas my budget won't stretch far enough to include the postage, my total budget is £300 and a packet of jaffa cakes at the mo, which is about £100 more than I can afford, don't tell the wife!!!. I do travel about gigging but unfortunately there are none in the Kent area booked in over December. Best wishes though, sure it will sell no problem
22.
Oi..! Less of that smut, if you please..! This is a family forum..!
Quite right......(bows head in shame)
