1. Hi guys, up for sale is my EB Musicman Stingray with a two band EQ. I need to check the serial but I'm pretty sure this is from around 2000. The previous owner was Higgie who I picked it up off a few years ago. I think I'm the third-fifth owner. It's served me well but is surplus to requirements now. Has a few dings on the headstock and some dinks on the body which I've tried to photograph. Pickup is showing some oxidisation but it's nothing that affects the instrument. Comes with a non-original semi-hard case and Hipshot detuner fitted. I'm after [s]£650 posted[/s] SOLD (am also down for meeting halfway and the like). Not interested in trades unless it's something fretless or something a bit "out there". 2. I honestly didn't know there was a 15 minute loud period. All I could hear most of the time was slap bass
3. The octave-up sound of the You're Doom only comes in once you start playing past the 12th fret and roll back your tone. It's not an octave fuzz but it hints at it sometimes.
4. I took a load of pics but I figured for now I'd share this one of Kev, me, Dood and Max from [sfx]:
5. It goes without saying but I'm always a fan of your boards, Gaz. The TFR is the only muff variant I've owned that I've sworn to forever keep.
6.
How do you find the Side Car works with the Boomerang? Does it add a great deal of functionality?

Blimey flip, what does that lot sound like?!
I'm having a lot of fun making noise, ambient soundscapes and covering Daft Punk songs by myself. I'm hoping to record with it soon, if only for posterity The Side Car definitely opens up the Boomerang (as least for me). I find it far easier to stack and record with dedicated function buttons and it frees up the first yellow bonus button as a fourth loop bank and allows me to set fade, reverse and octave to separate buttons.
7. This is what I've been playing with this afternoon:
8. Cable ties and self adhesive squares are great for this. Here's a picture of the underside of my main gigging board:
9. You could try lowering the action a touch and playing more aggressively. The VT you have should be able to get you there. As others have said, I think rounds would make getting that clanky P sound a lot easier.
10. I'm a big fan of the Neunaber Choruses. They're digital but do that subtle detune sound SO well. Think of a nicer version of the detune on the Digitech Whammy pedals or the Iron Ether Polytope set to a subtle setting with a lower noise floor.
11. Boss DR-3: Received as a gift several years ago and I've used it a handful of times. It's spent most of its life sat in storage. Immaculate condition with all the paperwork, power supply and original box (which is looking a bit tatty but it will be adequately packed for shipping). [s]£90 £80 £60 £50 posted[/s] SOLD Cheers, Bob
12. TC Electronic Ditto Looper - £50 posted SOLD Great little looper and an excellent, affordable way to get into looping. Practically as new with velcro on the bottom. I no longer have its box and manual but you can get the manual online easily enough (and it's a very straight forward pedal to use anyway). Tone Freak Abunai 2 - £Withdrawn posted The best TS-808 clone I've used with three different types of clipping and a tonne of gain on tap if you need it. It has true bypass and uses the classic JRC4558 op amp. There's some minor wear on the print on the pedal's face but the pedal itself is in excellent condition overall. It has velcro on the bottom and an "LED dim" sticker over its ridiculously bright blue LED but you can peel it off easily enough without any residue and the like. Thanks for looking!
13. I'm kind of GAS free at the moment. I've got a Boomerang III coming which I'm eager to play with. Depending on how composition goes I MIGHT grab a BeatBuddy for percussion and midi sync them. Bass wise I'm quite content but I've been thinking about getting a Status fretless neck for my Stingray for a while for those times I want to pretend I'm Pino or Levin.
14. All controversy aside I'm curious to hear what these pedals are like once people have had their hands on them for a while. I REALLY like the B7K and, in my humble opinion, its modern, baked-in sound isn't that discernible in a full band-setting (at least how I use it) and I find I can tune it to be a clean boost (with some EQing), a bit gritty to producing metallic hellfire. I do wonder if the the Vulcan XL is more my thing though....
15. Excellent stuff. What a lovely thread
