1. Hi, I got this very recently from fellow BC'er whynot and I just haven't been able to get on with it. Great piece of gear, good for those who really like to sculpt thier sound and like a blend of tube and solid state heads. My simple Hartke LH500 is doing me perfect at the moment. I couldn't get it past 12 o'clock with my Barefaced Super Twelve without the earth shattering below me, this head packs some serious power! There is a small dink in the bottom right corner. This isnt really visible looking at it straight on but there is a small chip on the underside. Looking for £550 which will include next day shipping, power lead and a jack-jack speaker lead. 500 watts VLE and VPF filter controls Solid State/Tube Mix Control Inputs for electric (Jack) and upright basses (Dual XLR/Jack Input) with phantom power switch Master Volume Pull Mute Switch Clip LED Line Out Volume Control Jack and Speakon Cab Outputs Tuber Out Effects Loop Pre/Post EQ Switches Ground Lift Switch XLR Line Out Any questions/offers please message me and I'll do my best to message you back same day Cheers

 4. Thanks for the feedback JTUK. All taken constructively. Unfortunately we had someone else that wasnt a guitarist mix the tracks for us. We could have done with more time, it was a big ask trying to do 6 tracks in 6 days - record, mix and master. We are happy with the way it turned out, through my semi decent pair of closed back headphones it sounds great. I will agree that the guitars are very 'high', this doesnt squander the vocals too much though I dont think. Glad you guys like it.

 12.
I thought this was sold!
Yes it had! The perils of the BC market place.
I'm currently looking to upgrade to a better bass and just want to aks a quick question. How does the sound and neck compare to a standard US Fender Jazz? Please excuse my ignorance, but I've never tried a Sterling (or any Musicman) before. At a price like this I really want to go for it - even doing a round trip from the Northwest!
I haven't A/B'd a Sterling and a Jazz but people do say the feel is quite the same. Soundwise, you can definitely get a USA Std sound from the Sterling. I tried a new Jazz not too long ago and it was very modern and burly and loud which is easy to create with the 3-band EQ and toggle switch. Some more experienced BC'ers will be able to shed more light on differences and feel etc, there is a thread on Sterlings in the 'Basses' forum, that will hopefully answer any queries you may have.
 13. Bump. Someone please buy this!!

 19. I've heard the tone in reviews for the Terror Bass and although it wasnt a thorough test the tone didnt really appeal to me. The Markbass sound is very attractive to my ears, but I will keep my mind open to other options too.
 20. Hi, Predicament: Which Markbass head to get? The Markbass Little Mark Tube or the Markbass Little Mark Rocker. Both are around the 650-700 mark, both kick out 500 watts @ 4 ohms, both have the same EQ section, both have tubes in them somewhere. The only difference, as far as I can tell, is the way the tube 'blend' is controlled: Little Mark Tube: 'Mix' Control from full solid state to full 'tube' sound. Little Rocker: 'Tube Drive' Control which only controls drive......obviously. My question is which would be 'better' overall? Does the Rocker already have the tube sound before the drive is kicked in? Is only being able to 'drive' the tubes a problem? I know that Markbass amps are known for being warm sounding anyway..... This is the predicament I find myself in. The obvious answer is to try them both but I have nowhere locally or within reasonable distance to try them so I'm asking you, the good people of Bass Chat, for your opinions. I know Markbass is very popular on here so I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this topic for me. Here are the German YouTube reviews, I know they are in German but they give a good indication of the kind of sounds you can get from these bad boys: MarkBass Little Mark Rocker 500 MarkBass Little Mark Tube
 21.
You haven't bought a very vintage sounding bass, but a used Ampeg SVT3PRO (with valve pre) will get you into the ballpark. Basically any Ampeg will be pretty good at that vintage tone. The Markbass LM2, 3 or LMK are very warm sounding amps. Hartke or Peavey could be a good stop gap until you can afford something better. I think you'll be able to get a good sound out of most amps through a BFB Super12.
The Marcus was definitely a lot more vintage sounding than the new American Standard and the Geddy seemed a bit brittle for my liking. Then again I dont want to pretend that I'm an expert, being in an Alt Rock band, the ability to boost the bass and treble appealed to me, and it still retains a bit of the non boosted tone in there which I liked. I have actually now seen a video of the MarkBass Tube 800 and Little Rocker being tested and both look and definitely sound very appealing. Anyone know of a good place to try MarkBass stuff out? (big stock, ideally not in the centre of London, nearer to Bristol) I think the LH500 will be a good stop gap. I'll look to upgrade at the end of this month.
