    My collection!

Ped Sir I think you know what your jazz doe's to me!
  4. Mike Sir as usual, outstanding! Sound's so nice and relaxed, and your tone really cuts through!
  5. Raising the pick ups will increase the volume by a certain amount if thats what your mainly looking to do, but also as you've lsited it is a personal preference, some of us have the pick ups just under the strings so they act as a rudimentary ramp or some prefer to have them further down, both for comfort and tone wise as well. Really Paul man its just a case of raising the pick ups and seeing if it eliminates your problems and if its comfortable.
  6. If you look around enough you should come across some USA Deluxe jazz basses, for their price (Just over £1000 new, usually 2nd hands one go for £600 or so) they are exceptional, any tone under the sun and a twist on the standard jazz boths looks and feel wise and tone wise as well, that said, Lakland's are pretty much the same as well, it's just the classic case of trying them.
  7. Those Dunlop ones were in particular because there's this tiny little washer like thing which has to go into a very thin groove on the corresponding bolt, I knackered my thumbs just trying to get them to stay on, they're not going to come any time soon, but thats kind of bad thing because if I need to adjust the strap and need to take them off, I'll hazard a guess further blood will be shed, they are that stressful.
  8. I'll let the pictures do the talking, but all I will say is my gas is satisfied for a good few years. Almost looks like a Lakland Dern' it? Though it took me an hour putting on those damn Dunlop strap locks, a task which entailed drills, blood, sweat and Iron Bru.
  9. Josh - Playing for about and a half years now, for the last 2 it's been all about finidng my tone and honing my technique and lately it's really been paying off, and one other major thing lately for the last 2 years, and thats I've been aaquainted with a certain aspect of bass playing, and thats grooooooooooove! Ohh and equipment wise I'm very very very happy with my Deluxe Usa Jazz 4, punchy as a baby chav.
