  1. For sale is my Zoom B1Xon multi effects. Only selling as its been replaced by a B3.

Excellent condition and only ever been used in the house.

Great for mucking about with and useful as a headphone practice amp.

Also got the box somewhere and I'll throw in a USB lead and power adapter.

Say £5 for postage if you aren't nearby.

Being completely niave here as I've never actually played one, but what are short scale five strings like, or more to the point what is the B string like?

I've never played one either but I trust that if luthiers like ACG and others offer short scale 5s, it must work.

Could be down to strings and tension, heard good things about Newton who will do custom balanced gauges and will probably be happy to answer queries about short scale B strings.

  3. Just bought a red Squier Bronco as a project and going to paint it Shell Pink. Would love to relic it similar to this. Not quite to this degree but I don't want to do a poor job and make it look odd. Decisions, decisions....

Think they possibly missed a golden opportunity with a Flea sig many many years ago...

Funny how they didn't try and get one after he did his Jazz Bass, and then went on to make a jazz bass with a stingray/lane poor pickup.

Must just not be part of the business model just now 🤷‍♂️

  5. Now as we know, there are hunners of Musicman signature guitar models - but the bass side has always been pretty limited for signature models. There was the Joe Dart one last year and now this  Mike Herrera (punk rock singer/bassist for MxPx - no, me neither) https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2020/06/10/ernie-ball-music-man-unveils-mike-herrera-stingray-bass/

So what do we think about Ernie Ball coming round to bass signature models? Couldn't care less? Will be cool to see what features they are willing to do for artists as the basses themselves are pretty widely used.

    Tim Commerford would be cool....

The bass in your pic would have a nitro finish, which is easy to paint over. Removing poly etc, then painting over is a nightmare, unless you have lots of time, energy and patience

Ah OK, gotcha! Complete strip it is!

  7. Hopefully a straightforward one, you see all these reliced/vintage Fender types that have say black under gold or sunburst under white.

To do this yourself is it simply a case of taking the clear coat off the base colour and using that as the primer rather than a grey or white primer?

    Ta!

  8. Afternoon all,

I've finally found a Bronco that needs some love for a project that has been on my mind for a while. Ever since I saw the short scale Stingray I wanted one but don't have £600 currently free so, could I put a humbucker in the Stringray spot and get something similar?

Would probably add a Stinger circuit to it too.

    What do we think?

  9. For those with extended experience of the BB425 and BB735 - are the neck profiles the same? And which of the two do you find comfier to play?

Obviously the old pickups have a certain something that some feel hasn't transferred to the new set up but from a comfort and feel, which do you prefer?
