That's a bit nice!

For sale is my Zoom B1Xon multi effects. Only selling as its been replaced by a B3.
Excellent condition and only ever been used in the house.
Great for mucking about with and useful as a headphone practice amp.
Also got the box somewhere and I'll throw in a USB lead and power adapter.
Say £5 for postage if you aren't nearby.

Being completely niave here as I've never actually played one, but what are short scale five strings like, or more to the point what is the B string like?
I've never played one either but I trust that if luthiers like ACG and others offer short scale 5s, it must work.
Could be down to strings and tension, heard good things about Newton who will do custom balanced gauges and will probably be happy to answer queries about short scale B strings.

Think they possibly missed a golden opportunity with a Flea sig many many years ago...
Funny how they didn't try and get one after he did his Jazz Bass, and then went on to make a jazz bass with a stingray/lane poor pickup.
Must just not be part of the business model just now 🤷♂️

Yes, that is weird....surely just get rid of the control plate

Now as we know, there are hunners of Musicman signature guitar models - but the bass side has always been pretty limited for signature models. There was the Joe Dart one last year and now this Mike Herrera (punk rock singer/bassist for MxPx - no, me neither) https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2020/06/10/ernie-ball-music-man-unveils-mike-herrera-stingray-bass/
So what do we think about Ernie Ball coming round to bass signature models? Couldn't care less? Will be cool to see what features they are willing to do for artists as the basses themselves are pretty widely used.
Tim Commerford would be cool....

I've got a Squier VM Fretless. For a first time fretlesser it's ideal. I got mine for £120 off Facebook.

The bass in your pic would have a nitro finish, which is easy to paint over. Removing poly etc, then painting over is a nightmare, unless you have lots of time, energy and patience
Ah OK, gotcha! Complete strip it is!

Or do I go cheap and cheerful and go with a big ol set of Rails at the bridge with another rail in the normal position

Excellent, thanks for the measurements!
-
Thanks! I'll measure that out and see if I need anything else.
-
Further to this - planning to find a humbucker that I can wire series/parallel and only have that on a rotary switch and a tone control. No volume.
Is this doable and any specific pickups that people can recommend? Thought about the Kent Armstrong MM4

Could @anzoid or @scrumpymike please measure the pickup location?
Planning a BroncoRay build and need to know if this is a viable idea 😉

Afternoon all,
I've finally found a Bronco that needs some love for a project that has been on my mind for a while. Ever since I saw the short scale Stingray I wanted one but don't have £600 currently free so, could I put a humbucker in the Stringray spot and get something similar?
Would probably add a Stinger circuit to it too. What do we think?

For anyone interested. Some very nice SGC for sale...
-
Wow, they both look great.
Don't imagine they'll be around long!

I saw a couple of three for sale recently, around about the £500 second hand but how much are they new?
No prices on the Facebook page and I am very much tire kicking at this point 😂
-
For those with extended experience of the BB425 and BB735 - are the neck profiles the same? And which of the two do you find comfier to play?
Obviously the old pickups have a certain something that some feel hasn't transferred to the new set up but from a comfort and feel, which do you prefer?

Looks good in White Blonde too
