  8. I bought this one on here from Burrito Bass last year...its been great for playing small venues with my Bass Terror and the case is ideal for putting the whole rig on, bringing up nearer ear level. However, its not getting much use now (apart from somewhere for the cat to sit) and moving house means I really need the cash. Its in excellent nick as it was when I bought it. Pick up preferred...I'm in Plymouth.
  9. Nice write up R Bird. Sounds like you got a proper bargain there too…I played one in GAK a year ago and decided I liked it but not the £700 price tag so much! Ended up getting one on ebay for £350 posted in a hardcase. I think mines a 2003/4 and thought it would’ve had a few bumps and scrapes after 10 years use, but apart from some varnish cracks around the tuners on the front of the headstock (possibly over-tightening) it was immaculate…so have actually put some effort into looking after it. Really like the pickup…and was surprised how versatile the tone control is – wound up gives you plenty of twang/clank (at the expense of string noise), backed off for the dubby stuff. Although I thought it would have a higher output, mine is a fair bit quieter compared to my Squier CV Precision. Love the fat neck…sustains all day long, although it makes super fast and fiddly stuff a bit more tricky. The weight’s never been an issue…only a bit heavier than the CV. Mine is the custard yellow version…which took a bit of getting used to, but I quite like it now, its pretty retro. The only issue…and I haven’t been able to sort it out, is the slightly dead, dull sounding e-string (plugged in or not). This happens fretted and open, ruling out the nut, and have changed the strings a couple of times now and tried raising/lowering the saddles so who knows. Its mildly annoying rather than a complete disaster so have left it, but next stop is a luthier when I have time…
  10. Hey chaps, have had a minor issue since getting this one 2nd hand about a year ago...just been too lazy to try and sort it! Basically the top 3 are super zingy with loads of sustain but E is a kind of dull thud by comparison! Its not an electronics issue as its evident when you play it unplugged...seems like a string position problem (have replaces the strings) and I suppose a full setup would sort it, but cash wont allow at the moment. Anyone have any ideas?
  11. Thanks chaps...Im sure Ive twisted it back before and its worked for a while. Oh well, maybe its time to splash the cash...
  12. Evening folks...bass (precision) wont work, or will but very quite unless jack plug is forced up at an angle in socket! Ive had a play around with it but no joy...Im guessing something is touching that shouldn't, or vice versa! Any ideas? Has to be something simple surely (besides the bass player)!!!
  13. I play a Precision through an OTB with a Eden nemesis 4x10 and I know what you mean. Treble at 3 o' clock, mid about 11 and bass about 10 with bass master tone most of the way up just about gets me the sound I like. Increasing the treble even more just tends to increase the string noise! How old is your Terror Bass? Reason for asking is that I played through someone elses at a gig a few months back...brand new terror but with an Ashdown 4x10 and managed to get a great sound with everything at 12 (usually put master at 12 and gain about 9/10). This got me wondering if the new models are less bass heavy (along with being less gainey). I cant really see the cab making that amount of difference to the sound... Worth experimenting with other cabs though (and possibly valves, if you want to go down that road)... I'll try and find the thread as there was some useful info on there.
