  5. not bad at all really, not brill, iv had better sounds, and its nothing to do with the bass as a jazz bass, more to do with a personel pref and more to do with the position of the pickups. i like a back pick up to have a good toney honk to it, to use by its self or mix in a bit of neck pickup to fatten it out a bit, so i wished i had asked for the bridge pickup to be further back, infact i wish both pickups were further back, like a thumb bass, thats where the tone is, and also the john east pre i never really liked the glassy hi's, there is not really a note there, more a sort of trebbly click, great for scooped slap sound, but thats about its use, so i got on to john and he gave me some advice on taking the trebble down an octave so it has more inpact on the note. so the next stage will be.. 1, add another mec pickup between the bridge and the existing pickup, and have it wired with a 3way switch that gives you either of the two bridge pickups or both as a humbucker. 2, add another 2 way switch to take down the trebble an octive one way, and the other to keep the original hi as made. so not my perfect bass, but it will be, as a jazz fretless though its prob everything anyone else would love. each to their own and all that.

  10. well this is just great init ? £30 each... for gods sake.. just think what you could do with one of these for £30 you could take one to gigs with you for all your old strings.. you could fill it full of water and sell it to david blaine. you could put wheels on it, add a steering wheel and peddles, and save on a sh!t electric car. you could use it as a coffin, what self respecting muso wouldnt want one of these instead, set the trend. you could drill holes in it for guns and legs and sell it to the russians as a new 2 man crew tank, it cant be much worse. you could start a new trend and have them flat on a wall instead of stupid bits of wood. you could put your fridge in it and have a new retro looking SMEG. you could put your fridge in it and take it on tour to keep your beers cool. you could hide all the kids xmas pressies in it and tell them chucky lives in it so they wont look. you could hide your new bass in it from the wife.... common you know you have sneaked at least one in. you could buy 2 and stack them in the garage for all your unused musical cr@p. but for gods sake at least buy one !! what perverse sexual activity you do in it is no busness of mine, and i would like to say for the record, that i have never, ever, used them as such... they were just rumors, it was never prooven, and anway i was cleared. though..... i have dabbled.
