  2. i was selling something on ebay, and a guy got intouch saying he could not buy from ebay for some reason, and would i sell it on reverb as he can buy from there, so i signed up just to sus it out and was a bit woried of the payout system in that i had to send the stuff before i was paid, i didnt like that, so i left it, but seems thats the way it works, can anyone explain how it works more clearly and the pitfalls if any please ? cheers
  3. I would put a hoop in my pants, stick a red ball on my nose, and ware size 30 shoes, if it helped put sausages on the table. i dont care, i will play anything if im paid to do it, its that that funds the stuff i really like to play, but does not have the same income πŸ™‚ some times you have to sell your self. and im proud to do it πŸ™‚
  4. ooo yea, yea, thats for you ped... i think you should fund it by selling me that rubbish L2000E you have tucked away πŸ™‚

  6. hi, its no lightweight thats for sure, its a quality solid build, if it fell down stairs it would prob take your wall out, but hay the combo would be fine πŸ™‚ i too dont mind the weight of bass gear, i will always go with sound over weight so if it sounds good i dont care if fact i pref heavy basses also, my wal iv had since the 80s is a ton in weight, and when i retired it cus its battered now, i could not find anything to replace it untill i tried the early G&L L2000 E. and i have a few of them now and all of them are very heavy, in fact doug wilkes has just made me a fretless jazz bass because i could not find an early G&L fretless, PED snapped up the last one i had hopes on and i missed the auction, ( come on ped youve had it long enough now πŸ™‚ ) and i said make it using heavy woods, his reply was " be carefull what you wish for" and he was right, that too is a tank, but man the sound of it, so yea i dont mind heavy, regarding the sound, its just killer, tried all sorts of combos over the years, and for my tone and recording the swr is just hands down the best for lots of reasons. check this out... really interesting read about steve rabe. https://bassmagazine.com/artists/true-genius-remembering-steve-rabe-and-swr oh and anything good is worth travilling for πŸ™‚
  7. its found out its for sale and its not happy, its turned around and is facing the wall, it just wont turn around and look at me. oh well, iv got a gig coming up and when i went to ask it, i was met with this...
  8. not exactly living my best life, just doing what im good at, i still have to earn a crust, and sometimes it does not put steak on the table, mostly sausages at best, which i dont mind cus i like sausages πŸ™‚ shame you had to pack in the band, i use mine as therapy, without it and music i would crack up too, as i hate tv, not watched tv for 20 years, so that extra time i try to use to create. if you decide to get back into a band let me know, because i taught bass for awhile and i do get a few bands asking for bass players, have got a few local bass players on here back into bands, infact i have got one right now on the wirral looking for a bass player, so just pm me when you feel the need. lets get you back playing again. you know you mis it πŸ™‚ keep well
  9. AAAHHH i remember that gig, Nantwich Jazz fest. the mother of all sh!t gigs, not the fest, just the band, theres one i just knew would never go away, someone, somewhere, would have evidence of it to use later on.... and hay presto πŸ™‚
  10. im good thanks, hope you are too, spending as much free time as i can doing a 5 track ep for release for my funky band with a more disco vibe. some sounding very good at the mo, even if i do say so myself and some abit soso that im not too sure about, but all great fun, esp looking for some old disco sounding studio toys, just aquired a nice "Electrix Warp Factory " yeeeee ...we will see. so that, and the 80s tribute band, and still fixing mixing consoles in my workshop with a few beers down the local at the end of the night, makes for a pritty good day. What you up to ? tell all....and dont skip bits πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
  11. its a great price, and to be fair to him its only what he bought it for πŸ™‚ its alot of amp and cabs in very good condition for not alot of money, Β£300 ! ! he could if wanted almost double that. so a more than fair price from an upstanding guy not wanting to make cash on it. not often you get that these days.
  12. Recording studio band Demos 7x master CD DVD copyer FAST, Hardly used perfect working order just put your cd in the top, blancs in the bottom press ok, done, easy This is a stand alone unit and does not need a pc. reduced to 130 ! Bargain. please pm me if interested
  13. ALESIS MASTERLINK Recording studio mix storage, and mastering tools and cd recorder. with 52 hours of record time Not every day you see one of these unused brand new in its box ! yep UNUSED, still with the battries taped to the remote control and rack ears stll with the plastic on not even been connected real time warp stuff here. if you dont know about these then check it out https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/alesis-masterlink https://www.alesis.com/products/view/masterlink-ml-9600 Β£1,500.00 new so its a good price for Β£340 you can bounce all your mix either digital spdif or light pipe or analog to store in its internal drive tracks of 24bit 96khz ! then master them in it using its internal tools, either single tracks or a whole album so all the tracks have been mastered the same, so same levels same compression so your tracks on the album all sound equal, then either spdif or analog or adat it out to your daw or just burn your mix to its own very high quality redbook cd. loads of top studios traided their dat machines and bounced all their stuff to these. also... its a great live or practice recorder right of the desk to the internal drive, you can then bounce back out to your daw for editing later so its a really handy studio/live tool with loads of uses. i turned it on just to check the storage time see att. collect from ellesmere port, or post will be about Β£13 if you want it dont hang about because i doubt you will see another new one. please pm me if interested, cheers. PS i will take a px for other studio toys πŸ™‚
  14. hi nail, i have always done paradiddles as RLRR LRLL like the word.. pa,ra, di, dul, (ba be ba ba... be ba be be. repeat) πŸ™‚
  15. mmmmmmm Avalon U5, now theres an expensive bit of kit, but while were on some hi end stuff, check out if you can lowdown the AMEK 9098 you can use it for all sorts so you can get alot of milage out of it, mainly NEVE mic pre and eq, but i have found that thing will suck every bit of info right out of your pickups, if you have a active pre in your bass set it to passive if you can cus the eq and pre in the amek is 1 billion x better than any bass pre amp in terms of eq scope and range with no crusshing of band width and frequencys. check it out, its another world. you might even hate it πŸ™‚ 2nd one down also found the di out of the swr red head to be very very good. did i say very twice then ? yea? thats because its twice as good as just very good πŸ™‚ ahhh im sorry, its getting late...😴
  16. Jermaine Jackson was no slouch either to be fair, a good bass player, i think the best he got was when jean luc ponty was pushing him, this is him on this track, a lovely bass line and a nice track to learn, with some stunning drumming as well, in fact stunning playing by everyone πŸ™‚
  17. content aside, either it works for you or not, but just the fact shes playing it on a kala bass ! cant be easy that. i did try one once it just felt awfull, the rubbery strings felt all baggy and fat, .. i knew a girl like that once, couldn't get on with that either πŸ™‚
  18. sorry should of read "Hollywood" backing singers.... (Edted) its impressive no doubt, it sucked me right it, i found with hollywood it took alot of messing about to get right, it would suck a few hours of your life away just to get small things to sound right, but once grasped, your good to go, this is another level i think, if only EW could do this in the same way as hollywood backing singers, that would be good. i did wonder if lettuce used EW?HBS toward the end of their track "Love is too strong" ? if so they made good use of it, not too much, just enough...al check it out.
  19. yea it dances in time with everything, its got better timing than me πŸ™‚
  20. well have to say this blew me away, its hard enough to play on a normal bass fgs.
  21. How long is my strap ? a bit personal, but lets just say.. i dont get many complaints πŸ™‚
  22. well impressed with Solaria it sounds great, never heard of it before, i do have hollywood backing singers, word manipulation i think is not as good as this for clarity of words, ! but is still very good, so... just counting my cash in the piggy bank πŸ™‚ thanks for that
