I'd agree, was going to post earlier that I wasn't sure where else you'd save weight, it's pretty slimline as it is already... - I'm not a massive fan of 12inch subs - but I guess if you are running some decent compressors/limiters, they'll do a job.

I think he was demonstrating the sort of maths that cab manufacturers use to derive their published specs.

Ive yet to find a compressor pedal that I like. The rack mount units (and plugins for that matter) seem to be a lot more effective. For bass, I think multiband compressors are a lot more useful.

Step 1. Convince the gullible crew on an Internet forum.

I'd highly recommend adding in the wood dust. It will make for a much better looking repair... and is easier to build up that lacquer (although never having worked with nitro, I can only speak in terms of poly). When lacquered, a block with wet and dry and through the grades and a polish will make for a very good looking repair.

Pretty much. mind you, it's not the sound aspect (or not) as to why these systems sell. They look prettier in wedding photos. They are portable - and for a lot of people - good enough.

This is why I tend to do all my shopping online. The less I have to interact with people, the better. I was in Sheffield at a café - took me 15 minutes to get through the checkout. Cold chips. Today... been at a coffee shop... first time getting through the till, 20 minutes. Second, 7. Both times there was 2 or less people in front of me in the queue.

With regards to specialist shops, I'm prepared to cut them a bit of slack... lets face it, it must be boring looking at bass guitars all day... once the novelty has worn off. And lets face it, we'd all be beaching if these shops closed down. Next time go in there and tell them what you want there and then. And once when the deal is done, tell them how diabolically stinky poo the experience was.

You're right, it's not the first one I was thinking about thinking about but the second one that I had first had second thoughts about thinking about that I was then thinking about.
