1. I am not a fan of Sandberg. Most Sandbergs are Fender copies and I don't even like the original. A Status Kingbass would be interesting. But then...I already had some Status basses. They play wonderfull! But I play rock music... the sound can't compete with a wooden neck and finger style... BBs growl so good! 🙂
2. You are right about the weight training 😉 I do like my basses not too heavy ! I had some issues with a slipped disc some 15 years ago and weight is the reason I sold some very nice basses that I did not like for 1,5 hours hanging round my neck. That's why I only play 4 strings now.
3. I once bought a Warmoth neck and had it adjusted to a 414. Looked killer but the original neck sounded better.
4. I bought a 1024x used but that bass was way more heavy than my 1000ma and all the 424/414s I owned. So I sold it after some weeks. I had a BB3000 once that payed lovely but I always felt more atracted to the bolt on neck sound of my 1000ma. I even once was offered to buy a 3000ma but it could not "beat" my bolt on version of it. That's why I do like the sound of the 700 series. Even the active circuit sounds usable, although I became a passive mode player over the years. I apologise for the ""no frame design" thing ...I am German and my English might not be able to keep up with you here and there 😉 What I wanted to state is that I just love the pickups surrounds 🙂
5. Hi guys, just found this thread about BBs... I play BBs for 20+ years, and a BB300 was one of my first basses years before. I am thinking of buying a new 734a and having it finished in a new colour. My main bass is a BB1000ma from the day I got it back then when they were arround. Still struggeling a bit with the new shape and the no-frame-design of the new series.. ;-(
6. How was it done?
7. To Germany?
8. I hope you like that blue . It was me who let it paint in that colour years ago ! :-)
9. Is it a foil ?
10. I am selling my custom made fretless "Morton" . This is a handbuilt (!) neck-through bass with a mahogani body and an american walnut top, Glockenklang 3 band electronics and two so called Walbuckers (not original Wal-PUs!) and Schaller gold tuners. Condition is superb !!! Price is 1390,- GBP
11. The bodies are very stable! The thing on the fretless happened to the owner that I bought it from. A strap button is one of the weakest points of any bass or guitar in case it goes down, I owned several Bogarts and wasn't able to cause a damage on one of them pesonally! :-)
Great basses these! I wonder though, if the Blackstone bodies are easily damaged? I nearly bought a headless one earlier this year but backed out after the seller provided detailed pictures revealing extensive damage to the top horn around the strap button, something which surely only Bogart would be able to fix. That said, these both look cracking! So many nice basses on here at the moment!
15. For sale is a 3 weeks old SKC Bogart bass. It sounds monster and plays like butter but due to a broken car that has to be replaced I am forced to sell the beast :-( It has a wonderfull carbon neck, Bartoline pu and Noll 3 band electronics (active/passive) . It comes in the gigbag Bogart delivered the bass in. Price (new: 1849,- EUROS,) now 1199,- EUROS 3 weeks old , no gig !!!!!!!!! 16. For sale is now my beloved Yamaha BB3000. It is two years old and a real player! Pimped with Glockenklang active electronics it realy is a stunning bass guitar. 2 band, push pull (active/passive) The bass has some little dings/dongs. Comes with case and org. electronics if you wish. (not built in of course) Price is 720,- GBP plus shipping. Will ship within the EU.
17. After having found a brilliant instrument in the BB3000 my life changed into the fretless world.. so I'm selling my BB3000 that I bought in 2010. It is a rare win red one. Not available in any shop any more! It plays like butter and sounds perfect, I wish I could keep it but I have to sell it for the new fretless bass. http://s10.directupload.net/images/user/100218/dxzum33u.jpg BB3000 in bright-bright sunlight: http://s11.directupload.net/images/user/100218/p7tk5au4.jpg In the meantime I upgradet it with a Glockenklang 2 band electronic (active/passive) and it is a missile now. It still has to go, now 850,- Euros inkluding the org. Yamaha electric circuit in the case.
18. I know what you mean and I deleted it! Sorry!
19. No, I am happy with the rest of my basses and the explorer is always alone in the living room :-) So I don't want to change for another bass, I need a lighter stack..my back...my cabinets are killing me..! :-)
20. It is passive if you pull the active/passive control!
21. Yeah, the vid is played by Germann Basses. But it has to be rocked... :-)))
22. Hi folks, being totally happy with my BB3000 I kind of "forgot" about the explorer - it is still in it's bag and was not played again. It is still available so if you need an extra special x-mas present for you....go for it. Price update: It is not 800 GBP anymore but will go for 800 Euros. That's 705,- GBP at the moment.....!
23. It's def. not a Jazzbass neck! But fast although! It is a light bass, very comfortable.
24.
Well, the only way to find out is to try one. That's harder than it sounds as, talking to Mark at Bass Direct there is very limited supply and he got the first three in the UK which sold immediately. He has three more on order and one is presold and I can't find anywhere else that has one. So, I reserved one that Mark has coming in and should be with me by the end of the month. Once I get it I will let you know.
I bought a BB3000 a few weeks ago - there are 40 (well 39 now) BB3000 on the german market at the moment. They started at 1900 Euro and went down to 1085 Euro! Gold hardware, neck through, a beautiful bass with killer sound! I wanted a BB3000 (like Tony Kanal was playing before the BB2024x) but it was only available in Japan. Now I finaly got one. fantastic sound, stunning looks! Plays like a hot knife through butter! Wine red.. I'm in love! :-)
