  1. Just home from band rehearsal with the BB3000MA. Man that bass is the holy grale for me! :-)))))))))))))
  2. My 3000 was of that colour. It was one of the last 40 ever built ones. Def. a fault to sell it !!!!!!!! I put an active Glockenklang in. Still have the rog. electronics somewhere. Silly thing to do !!!!! One of the 5 basses I should have better kept. But I only sold instruments when I was in need for cash. As a musician, this happend sadly ofen to me....
  3. Good luck !!!!!!!!!!!
  4. So here the results: BB1000MA: 8,48lb BB414: 8,48lb BB3000MA: 8,93lb It proves me right that I thought they all were very similar concerning the weight. Funny that 414 and 1000 are 100% equal. Too bad I did not weigh the 1024 last year.
  5. This one would fit my black MA's very well 🙂 But petrol prices would be higher than the bass for me.... 😉
  6. I will weigh my 414 tomorrow, that's kind of interessting ! 🙂
  7. Oh, amp wise, I've been on quiet a jouney! I always loved the old Trace stuff that I played for about 100 years 🙂 But the cabs are soo heavy..!! I tried a lot, went all digital with Tecamp and Orange Terror but it soundet only great when played without band... it could not cut through in my rock bands - maybe it works with other styles. Last try for "light and loud" were three Hartke 12", 500 watts digital combos stagged together. Went on tour, played one night with a low budget analog rig of another band and sold everything digital at once when back home. Remebered that I knew Mr. Gooday from Ashdown (ex Trace) and he very very very kindly offered me a nice deal - I am not Paul McCartney...!!! In between I had been to Musicstore (again) and took time to test every amp they have in store. I was willing to buy the amp with the best sound for me (and my Yamaha, that I brought for testing) no matter the price. I did- it was a cheapo Hartke LH500 that blew me away because of its clear pure tone. Now with the Asdown rig I can say that it is a totally cool rock rig, I love it. Still have my beloved 410s of Trace but this 300 watts cabs weight about 50 kilos.
  8. Of course you must play it with a rig that is at least equal to the one you're used to. At Musicstore you can choose from 10watts Behringer to 8x10" Glockenklang and everythin in between. And my 410/210 /ABM600 Ashdown rig brings the best out of the bass. Although my spare amp, a Hartke LH500 is more transparent, more mosfet-ish 😛 Here are my 4 cool cats..
  9. Well I liked the 734 at Musicstore when it came with fresh strings out of tthe box. I like all the ideas of the improvements! It's just that they made not a notable difference -for me.
  10. Sound was great, it just was not the "step ahead" that I thought it woud be compared to my 1000ma. The 10000ma is lighter and felt somehow "faster" ...and my quiet new 414 does not feel or sound "cheaper " than the 1024. By the way..I live close to the "Musicstore" in Cologne and I did not like the 2024 basses I could play there, nor the BBP34 that they have. I don't know why...
  11. Had a white 1024 that was far to heavy and had a bassball racket as neck. Had to go soon again.
  12. And this kind of finish is my second thought...great ideas here guys!
  13. If an orange one will cross my way it will get a scratchplate 😛
  14. Of course both can look good! Andy's looks realy cool with it ! Pics like his made me think about it 😉
  15. I was thinking about putting a scratch plate on the 414 but I like it so much the way it is....
  16. Did I mention that I like it ? 😛
  17. Very nice Andy, very nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
  18. The witdth is 40mm exactly like the 1000ma. The body is smaller than the org. BB shape. It is modelled after MA's old BB2000 and in my opinion they developed a really great shape. And ...Michael is not a very tall guy so I think he might have wanted something "smaller" than a BB3000 was then...
  19. Concerning the serial numbers of the BB3000ma: Found a pic / page with a serial number of the same system like mine and a stated date on it so that I know the used number system for the BB3000ma is the one of Made in Japan, 1994-1997: #-letter-letter-###. Like so: 7FM123. So mine is also from 2001.
  20. I emailed Yamaha concerning the serial number because with the systems listed I can't figure out the year of production ... let's see..
  21. Well I would say.... one cool neck through does not change my mind totally because not every nt bass sounds like the MA. But this is a keeper. Or the beginning 🙂
  22. Man, the 3000MA plays and sounds like a dream. It is the BB1000MA in "noble" . As I said before I had the chance to by one about 10-12 years ago and I did not go for it. This bass makes me look like a fool, it sounds so incredibly good !! It has a very nice "growl" . The neck is slightly thicker but still not "thick" . I wonder when I ever played a neck through with such a nice and hard attack. It is my sound dream come true.
  23. Can somebody gif the link to the yamaha serialnumber - info side?
  24. BB1100 (s?) ?
  25. Man, that looks beautiful!! 👀❤️
