Crossovers take a little longer, but I've designed them for many well known companies and still have all the software and measuring equipment. Maybe we should do a cab at some future time and publish all the info on the forum. I think there might be a bit of interest.

    I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but it could well do the job. I've got a Giffin Q7, which does a great Tele and Strat sound, plus more raunchy P90-type tones. By far the best guitar I've ever played, which is why I have kept it. I quite fancy swapping it for the Stingray. As it's such a rare guitar, I'd be happy to let you have it on trial. I've also got the original (rave) review from Guitarist magazine if you'd like to see it. Have I told the story about the time I walked into Roger Giffin's workshop and he had Hank Marvin's red Strat on the bench? Yes, that one! I actually picked it up. Hank had taken it in to a repairer on Denmark Street, who had made a real mess of it. I couldn't believe it! That repairer is still in business, and quite well known, but my lips are sealed as to his identity.

Or is there more to it?[/quote] It depends on how good your woodworking skills are, but yes, that's basically it. Even some professionally built cabs use plastic drainpipe (black's best). Special speaker ports with a flare inside and out and a lip to finish the hole off are my preferred type.

Use 2 x 70mm ports, each 125mm long. Or to tune to 60Hz use 35mm long ports.

    I've had a very quick look and the speaker seems to be happy in anything between 35 and 60 litres internal volume. The bigger the cab, the more bass.

    I'm struck by the number of times 'increased sustain' is mentioned in the web reviews, as if it's somehow desireable. Still, the Gotoh is cheap enough to be worth a punt.

    The new Chinese-built drivers from Fane look quite good and are well priced. I've not tried them personally but the manufacturer is competent and the specs are OK if you choose the right ones. They're not neo though. The 15/400 watt is under £50 (http://www.bkelec.com/Pro/Drive_Units/Fane/Sov15-425.htm) and the 125W 10" is £22.50. Good if you're on a budget. The 15 will certainly be better than what's in your cab at the moment. I suspect the 10 will too.
