1.
My pedalboard : Strymon addict...
like the board, v good first post!! the bluesky and el capistan both really tempt me, I'm currently using a dispatch master for delay and reverb, but can't currently stump up the funds to upgrade. One day!!!

G&L

I had an LB100, sold it on here fairly recently, mine came from bass direct, as a nearly new second hand bass. It was absolutely lovely to play, so well made, great quarter sawn maple neck, but I just prefer the sound of my fender P basses. The G&L was a bit too modern / soul-less almost, by comparison. Just my take on it.
3. interesting watch, still can't see why he needs ten identical basses on stage though! have to agree about the newer stingray necks, the neck on my '89 ray needed changing, and the one I got from EB is just like the neck he has and eulogises about... best feeling neck I've ever played, and very clever design with the nut!
4. nice - I love the simplicity of 4-5 pedal setups, plus most of the time you can squeeze just as many sounds out of these little setups as you can with the huge boards, it just forces you to really explore each pedal, and all the combinations
5. Old model Pedaltrain Jr, soft case. As new condition, with bracket to allow PSU attachment underneath (not used / drilled / mounted, still in bag). Pictures to follow tonight. Velcro attached to board £45 collected from Bristol, or will post at cost cheers Gaz
6. Pedaltrain Metro 24 for sale. As new - pics to follow tonight. Soft case. Velcro attached. Case as new. £39 for collection from Bristol, can post at cost. cheers Gaz
7. definitely want to try a TAFM - loving my SSBS mini... did I recall you say the newer TAFM's didn't sound as good though??
8.
The demo sounded pretty cool. It's now on my to try list- although it'll take a lot to knock my black label chorus off my board!
I have the MXR analog on mine, but there was something about the EHX, it did sound pretty cool, may have to try one if they're only £65 or so...
9.
Changed your mind on that then?
haha, yep, listened with headphones and less drunk in my defence, I have changed my mind on a great many things in the last 2 years!!
10. nope, it's on my list after I get hold of a SSBS TAFM though!
11. ah, cheers, very kind of you to say so we're really happy with how that album has come out, just need to crack on with gigging now! I still need to give the new Russian circles album a listen (helms alee too!)
12. thanks - well, I play in an instrumental 3-piece (link in sig), so there is lots of space to fill. I use some type of dirt about 90% of the time, if not more. TK-421x (grindey RAT tone) for the main dirt tone, TFR (doomey-muff fuzz) for the really heavy parts, or the synthy upper register bits, and the mini I'm using for a little bit of drive when I don't want the aggressive tones of the COG. They each sound very different, and having no vocals, you can appreciate the changes in tone a bit more!
13. I think we should have clips to tracks underneath pedalboard posts!
14. afternoon all, pretty proud of this, after about 12 months of writing, rehearsing and then studio time, my new band's first album is now out we're a 3 piece from Bristol, and after 15 years of suffering 'lead singer syndrome' I thought it about time I did a band without one! 15. Just purchased a lovely AV62 Precision from Hutton. The bass was delivered the day following payment, excellently packaged, and exactly as described. A trusted seller.
16. yeah, a drunken chat with you at harbour fest pushed me into ordering... TAFM is next on the list I think
17. It's a proper good pedal... For fingerstyle, nothing comes close!!
18. The pedals and effects demo sold me... It's a good pedal
19. yeah, mighty impressed - going to have to try a TAFM next
20.
My votes would be for a COG 66 or an Xotic BB Bass Pre Simples Si
can't argue with this, but I'd add the SS/BS mini to the list too, does a lovely overdrive, but for playing finger style, BB kills edit: just watched the video - I don't want to be one of those guys who recommends whatever he has just bought, but the SSBS mini is spot on for this, though from videos I've seen, the beta is similar too.
21. OK, so this isn't a new pedal 'day', but I wanted to wait a couple of weeks before writing anything, after trying it at a couple of band practices... Really liking this pedal, it has a v useful 2 band EQ, and is capable of boosting the low end, not just maintaining it. The 'bias' control is very cool, you can dial it to the right and have a very transparent tone, lots of headroom, or turn it left and it gets very lofi, gatey and dirty It goes all the way from very subtle overdrive through to heavy distortion, and usable all the way through. Honestly, it's the first dirt pedal I've owned or tried (of many) where there is more than one different tone in there, the bias knob really does make that much difference. Love my tall font russian, TK421x and BB preamp, but I have them all dialled into a 'sweet spot' for me, and that's it. The mini is super versatile, but has its own voice. It's staying on the board
