    Guys any advice on cleaning a grimy maple fretboard on a SR5? Think its mostly sweat and oils that probably won't shift but there's also residue (wood glue from refret?)

    Guys Looking to clean up my fretboard a bit (as much as possible) Aware I'd have to go the steel wool route to get rid of dark patches on maple from sweat etc. over the years which I'm not arsed trying for fear of messing up board. Any suggestions for good cleaner to get rid of some of the grime and bring back some original shine?

    New bass day teal 2000 Stingray 5. Enjoying the different vibe of the 5 opposed to 4s which I couldn't really gel with.

    I've had a number of ray 4s which I couldn't get on with but just snagged a teal 2000 SR5. Can't wait to play it!!

    Funny that a lot of the iconic album tones weren't stingray. Wal, Alembic, Spector, Modulus and jazz.

    Now he is basically playing a stingray with a P neck and jazz type body 😆 Agreed would have loved a Ray sig. Would have sold like hot cakes. I loved his modulus tone and the bass overall but think it was more his skills than anything else.
