  1. Yeah "that" tone is what it's all about. I had the exact same conundrum with H stingrays. Pickup was nowhere near where I'm used to but I adapted. Tried HH and rests but just felt weird and I use a floating thumb now. Now that I have a notion on thumbs, its unlikely to pass until I try one 😀
  2. I keep thinking I don't want one then look at pics like that 🤩
  3. Cheers Masty The 5 would be a monster alright. I already have 2 5s so something would have to go
  4. Thanks for all your input lads. Yeah I love my ergonomics (Ibanez SR fanboy) so will try one out in person maybe, play the waiting game. I do love the tone though. Its so characteristic and jumps out every bit as much as a J, P and Ray tone. Albeit it has been overused in the modern metal sense. (Bbbr deng anyone?)
  5. This is pretty cool. Ovangkol neck, not sure fingerboard. https://reverb.com/item/67875793-warwick-lx-streamer-2003-purple-finish
  6. Yeah agreed to all above thanks lads. The playability thing scares me a little into getting a streamer. They sound pretty similar too. Yeah just got a P so maybe ill save.
  7. Hi guys, I have some GAS for a Warwick thumb and have been reading up on different woods years etc. I understand the wenge neck gives that characteristic burp that the Thumb has. https://bassbros.co.uk/product/2003-warwick-thumb-4-bolt-on/ Considering the above, any thoughts? Like the pickup configuration as I'm used to jazz type instruments. Price seems decent and could part ex. Or save up for a "better" one? 90s, GPS, full wenge etc. etc. Going for this vibe minus a string. Any feedback appreciated. If anyone considering selling hit me up Thanks Mick
  8. here you go lads, £600, might post to UK? https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/ibanez-premium-sr2400-bass/1445960702
  9. Me too. Getting pretty rare too.
  10. Recently came to my senses and bought back my SR2400 Its a piece of art and sounds great too
  11. I was concerned about the neck too but was happy out in my L2000. Felt more playable than any P I played (haven't played many to be fair )
  12. Sold my L2000, saw an L2500 on guitarguitar.co.uk and the rest is history. This thing is a monster.
  13. Great idea. Have a Ray SUB and want to do this
  14. Don't do it I have serious gas sometimes and have actually sold and bought back my sr2400. GAS hits for a Dingwall all the time then I force myself to play the SR still though, if anyone is lucky enough to buy this, lot of bass for £500. Good luck
  15. How do you find the tone/tension on the 4 string? Quite tempted to get a 4 as I predominantly play 4s
  16. Oh man! I have the J, also made in China. The flame on the neck and quality overall is unreal!
