3.
Hi all, Looking for someone who can teach me at an advanced level if anybody knows of anyone. Also, what kind of rate should i be expected to pay. Used to have clasical guitar lessons years ago and that was £12 an hour? Cheers Keith
Hi Keith Did you have any luck finding a tutor? One of my students will be moving from Fife down to the Warrington area this summer and will also be on the hunt. we'd all appreciate any recommendations. If it helps, I charge £20 per hour for one-to-one tuition. Students come to me once a fortnight. All the best Lawrie
 4. Ewan, feel free to remove my last post as it's all me me me and not at all about you selling your wonderful bass!
 5.
Hi Lawrie, I can't believe Gil has converted you as well. I must admit I have been tempted but the Sadowsky I wanted was quoted at $4600 and I still have duty to pay on that, so £3K for a Jazz bass was just a bit too much. How does Gil pay his mortgage ? Is it 4 or 5 he has now? You should have stuck to your Warwick if you wanted the extra, extra, extra wide spacing ;0)
Well you did ask....... I was a Sadowsky convert when Jason Newsted started playing them with Metallica back in the mid-ninties!! Once I'd become aware of the respected players of the bass world and how they also used them, I got Overwater basically to build me a jazz 5 to similar specs. Their third attempt was a beauty, but the weight deformed my neck and back (almost!) and never quite sounded like an old Fender. A friend of mine owns it now. Once I'd visited Sadowsky's shop in Brooklyn back in 2002, it was only a matter of saving up the cash to take the plunge. Gil got his first and he was kind enough to let me use it at Glasgow concert hall for the televised Ealtain gig. When I saw and heard the broadcast I was blown away by the bottom end and the punch, and I had kept the preamp flat all night! So now I have 2 and I swear by them for the majority of my work - recording and performing. I still have my 2 Streamer Stage Ones because Sadowsky or any jazz bass for that matter simply can't do that sound. IMHO of course. And regards to string spacing, any less than 19mm to me now feels like a guitar!!! Must be my extra long fingers
 6.
Yep, I can vouch for the last post by Ewan. Don't know Ewan personally but I certainly know Mr Gilbass ! I've tried my best to talk him out of his Sadowsky fixation for years but he's having none of it. Nice preamps but 19mm spacing ain't all it's cracked up to be, Gil ;-) With the hike in new Sei prices £1300's about right, in my opinion but I never got near that with my last 2 sales. S
How you doin' S? I feel compelled to say that of course I love my Sadowskys, but they'd have 20mm string spacing if I had my way!!!!!
 7. Worth trying is the Eden 210XST. I find there's more bottom end at lower volumes than two single 12s, although having them is a great option too. The Eden is relatively light for such a top end bass cab and isn't much wider than the DB750 in a rackcase. Happy hunting. I'm quite excited for you :-)
 8.
shameless bump!
Hi Ewan Thought the bass was a goner!!
 9. Hi Ewan The bass is lovely, but try to post some pics here too! Also, if you don't mind the suggestion, how about changing the title of your post to describe what the Sei bass model is? No pressure and good luck with the sale! L
 10.
I won't be selling every single one, apart from anything else I doubt that there are that many Warwick fans in the World at the moment
Seems to be the case. I've had LOTS of interest with my Streamer fretless but not the figure that it's worth. Best of luck!
 11.
evil! YOU ARE EVIL! That bass is luvverly. Damnit, I really want a fretless 5 too, this would suit me down to the ground. If I can sell my fretless Musicman, would you accept money, a lung, kidney and a leg?
Snarf, if you really want it you have my blessing to pillage, plunder and self-amputate to your heart's content! I forgot to check your location before posting this reply. Anyone based in Scotland is welcome to come and have a try. My next tour is in November and I've been told there's a Warwick buzz in Germany right now. The word has been spread so we shall see if any buyers turn up to our shows.... L
 12. Hi I'm selling two great tickets for The Police at Cardiff Millennium Stadium for October 19th. Ticket face value is £85 per ticket. I've started the bidding at £99 with no reserve. Auction ends this Friday!!! Genuine personal reasons for selling these. Basically, it'd be a bit of a trek for me to go to the concert alone!! The Police were my first favourite band and it's been a lifelong dream to see those three guys onstage together, so major disappointment. 13.
Lawrie has said it all and the pics probably don't do it justice. Any people in the market for this kind of bass, well, buy it.
Thanks Steve, you're a gentleman. And a leftie!!
 14.
How about a nut... I have a spare... Oh this's not good... I'm considering breaking into the just started MTD fund already...
Well Bigwan, I know which one I'd choose!
 15.
That is one of the most gorgeous Warwicks I have ever seen. Fancy trading it for my pancreas?
Tempting, but no :-D
 16. Thanks for the advice guys it's been a while since I sold anything online. Last time was my Overwater on bassworld! I'll have a think about it and edit my description asap Cheers!
 17. (This was previously on ebay and I avoided relisting it when I believed I had a buyer) I'm selling my beloved (and hardly played) Warwick Streamer Stage One Fretless 5 String. I bought this through Nick Owen at The Bass Centre back in 1997, arriving early 1998 and although it's not a custom instrument, it was built to order for me at the Warwick factory. I was only twenty at the time, coming to think of it...and I had a full time job too! Streamer Stage One basses are sooo commonly seen now and come way down in price, but even after all this time I've still never came face to face with another unlined fretless 5 string model. The deep flames have really come out over the years and are visually striking under stage lights. I mentioned it has hardly been played and this is true if you don't count the period between 1998-2000 when it was my main bass. This was around the time when I was establishing myself as a fulltime player. The bass very reliably accompanied me around various countries playing with a Celtic/World group, and included a residency at Disney World in Florida. Its condition is excellent for a well-travelled ten year old bass. Its fundamental differs tonally from many fretted Streamers I've played, which are great for slap and have a brilliantly bold clarity. Obviously this is a fretless, but when set flat it has a rare depth in the low end that I liken more to an electric upright than the typical Jaco-esque nasal sound often heard when bassists go sans-fret. Of course, soloing the bridge pickup with give you that irresistible mwah and extra midrange clarity sometimes required for pitching more accurately. I've never yet settled on an ideal string for this bass, as I've done on my other basses. It is strung with DR Lo-Riders on it right now, but I could stick on a fresh set of Elixirs for the sale. Specs: Solid Flamed Maple Body Flame Maple Neck coupled and stabilized with Wenge Thick unlined Ebony Fingerboard with Mother of Pearl sidedots in fret position. Wide-neck dimentions (20mm bridge spacing). Basslines Humbucker Pickups by Seymour Duncan. MEC 3-Band 18v Active Preamp. Passive option. Gold Hardware. Hipshot D-Tuner on the B string, preset to drop to A. Suuubby! Dunlop flush-mounted Straplocks. 34" Long Scale. Neck Width at nut: 47mm Neck Width at 24th Fret: 82mm Weight Approx. 4.5kg In typical sales fashion, I must point out that this a genuine reluctant sale. It's the bass I've owned the longest and if it wasn't for my current financial situ, coupled with the fact that I have just recieved my latest Sadowsky, this would remain in the corner of my room for as long as I'm able. It is sad that it doesn't get played much anymore though and deserves to be. It's a beautiful bass. If I've missed out any relevant information, please message me. For those of you on myspace, check out my photo section and I'm sure there's at least a couple of images of myself and Streamer at work. Lawrie's Myspace Page I'm looking to get as close to £1000 as possible. Included in the sale will be a Sadowsky Ultralite Case Free delivery to most UK destinations. Feel free to call me on 07950 453 572 Thanks for reading!
 18. I can vouch for this genuine sale. This bass and Johnny are both marvelous players and having owned one similar, it's tough finding a better specialized instrument at this quality and price in the UK. If you've always fancied one, save yourself the long wait that you'll face when ordering one new!!!!
