1. Once it is ressurected, I'll give my two p on the 32s Being been down that (rather neglected road) road of 32s for quite some time know, I' ve owned a few of them (Fender JP-535 Jazz Special, Fender Stu Hamm, Aria TSB-400) and still own three (SX, Squier MIJ & Landing) I've tried the Status Mark King (just gorgeous), Kubicki X factor, Burns Marquee and an Alembic (!!!!) I am addicted to them. I am very fond of funkle's JB-62M and shame I did not get that gorgeous Fender JBR-80 when I had the chance. The playability of 32s for those finger-challenged bassists is unparalleled. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. No 5ers though I am afraid. Handling 4 strings is quite challenging for me as it is .... If I had the money though and wanted a 32 5er, I would probably get in contact with Jimmy in Landing basses (dedicated to short & medium scale basses) and talk to him about what I need. Great guy Jimmy and eager to please. Although awaiting for a finished project from him requires Buddhist monk patience, I would say that the result is more than rewarding. And I am not saying that just because I' m a proud owner of an L32. On the other hand, I do believe that there are too many European luthiers that, given the opporunity, would create marvelous MS basses. Considering that orders to them are getting sparser now with the crisis would be probably mutally beneficial...
 2.
And another, hand wound in Cardiff. www.shedpickups.com
Although there is always room in the list (and in my heart) for my beloved Caerdydd, I do not see (unless I am mistaken) any bass pickups. I tried to limit my list to bass pickup manufacturers only, otherwise the list would be a little longer. Thanks anyway.

 6. I am not sure if this is been done already in the past (sorry if it has) but since I did a search about all the manufacturers of (electric) bass pickups I could currently find, I thought it would be nice to put them in a list for quick reference. It includes manufacturers from UK, Germany, Spain, France, Sweden, Japan, Australia and of course US. Not exhaustive I am sure but pretty comprehensive I assume. Sorry if I left someone out and please feel free to add. 8. Sorry for jumping in but I would suggest to have a look at this https://www.parcel2go.com/parceldelivery-euro.aspx Collected and delivered door to door (no hassle for either parts) for way less than £70. Did it for Greece and it works real smooth. Rates do change so go for recent calculations. Few months ago, for a Fender P-Bass (Aerodyne) in a hard case, from UK to Greece, was charged with £25 !! Gorgeous bass by the way...
 9. An excellent bass, if I may add. With an addition of a better pair of pups (I would add -just for the looks -a chinese imitation of a badass heavy duty bridge as well) can be the main bass (gigs and studio) for a price conscious player. Later versions have the walnut theme (for better or worse ) up to the headstock like this one Lovely bass.

 14. I just bought an Aerodyne P Bass from Chris. He was so pleasant and friendly that made the transaction really easy. Actually, made it easier than buying the bass locally. Thanks Chris.
 15.
I'm assuming that most desert islands don't have electricity, so I'll take the cheapest of my double basses and rip the top off, so I can use it as a boat to escape
My thoughts exactly. Therefore it has to be the Ibanez AGB-200 Not exactly my dream bass but semi-acoustic, nice curves , short scale (after a long day working to survive, it's easier), light to carry about...... Now I think of it, I probably have to get one.
 16.
I had a Peavey combo from the 80s through to 2005/6. I bought it secondhand for £50, did hundreds of gigs with it & eventually sold it for £120. You can't argue with that... the bloke I sold it to got an electric shock off it too!
Same here. A TKO that has been through all sorts of ordeal. And always coming through clean and sharp. Like James Bond I don't use it anymore but I could never sell it.
 17.
That one isnt going anywhere, believe me. Am only wondering as both options have become available and are equally cheap and I have a few extra quid this weekend. Probably wont move on either of them, but ponderin's what I do!

I am totally GAS free but would never say no to another 70´s Precision-Black/Black/Maple Will most likely be aiming for a Squer VM Jag too though.
You only need one or two. But you want so many of them .......
 18.
Anyone any thoughts on these?
No comparison. Stick to the one you have in your avatar. B/B/Rw
 19. Quoting the Blues Brothers: "I got everything I need .............. almost". Concerning short scales only. Landing L2
 20. Wanting something easy to carry, with good sound for small gigs and rehearsals (with my -what we like to believe as a- blues /rock band) and within my limited budget, I ended up with Eden Nemesis NA-320 (about 250 GBP). Put it in a light but sturdy made of plastic ABS case and I've never regretted it.
 21. For P-bass with Jazz neck you can always go to Aerodynes, or the Mexican (not the American) Deluxe as well as the Mexican painted but American build (or so they claim) Special California series (I saw one available in Glagow in a quite fair price). All of them with P body (P/J pups which I love) and J neck. And very good basses all of them.
 22.
The Fender (not squier) Mike Dirnt P The neck is thinner and less chunky than a MIM but thicker than a Jazz. The nut is around 40mm
Hear, hear Wonderful neck. But only if you like thick C profile. The Japanese 70's RI is also with a 40mm nut. And a smashing bass at that. Some of them turn up occasionaly on Ebay (from Japan though) around your budget.
 23. I 've been into short scales for quite some time and I will like to add my experience if you can bear my use of English. Quite few of them have been through my hands. Having small (relatively) fingers and incidents of "frozen shoulder", left me with the one-way option of short scales. I' ve been through some crappy ones and some brilliant ones. I will be honest with you and say that the only that they leave me short with, is my vanity on stage. Because when you play bass live with a band you want everybody to see the Man With Bass. As we say in Greece (loosely translated) "Beauty is more important than pain". If the instrument (short) is good (i.e. the absolutely fantastic Landing L2) there is no reason for a long scale. To my ears and fingers at least. There still around (quite few of them actually) and of good quality in fact. The Aria Pro Series II TAB-60, Ibanez AGB200, Epiphone Allen Woody, SX SJB-62 Short Scale, Alembic Series 1, Hagstrom HIIBN are all just wonderful basses. To hold, to look and to play with. Even the cheap Dean XM Evo I used to have (and giged with) was a quite respectable bass. I have to say though that I was not that keen on the Fenders and the EB-0. But that's just me. But, In my opinion I believe that medium scales (32) are the best option (still have two of them) that combine both worlds (long & short) advantages. But that's another subject.......
 24. Well, actually medium scale not short (30). The 32" contradicts of course the RI title but nonetheless ....... Excellent basses and of high quality too. Not to mention quite rare. Nut is (if I remember well) at 38mm as usual. I was quite obsessed with medium scales and I used to have a Fender Stu Hamm MIM (the 32" one) and I still have the PB-555 MIJ and an amazingly competent for its price SX Gypsy Rose (with wonderful Toneriders on it). I think everyone has to try a medium scale. Especially if they come in such quality as this one. Sorry for jumpin in.......
 25.
Sold pending payment.
Just got them. Thanks John.
