Well, I´m a proud owner of a Sunn 300T from the late 90´s and it´s sticking, not replacing it EVER! But since I have the 300T at the rehersal studio and have some gigs that I want to have lighter gear, I also have a small rig at home so I don´t have to go up and get the Sunn/Marshall-rig all the time. I now use a Mesa Boogie Basis M 2000 that I am pretty satisfied with, byt I can´t help missing the Sunn everytime I gig with something else... So... Does the Sunn 1200S from the 90´s sound anything like the 300T? It seems to have the same Preamp, EQ and Compressor that the 300 has and probably the same tube in the preamp (or maybe there´s no tube at all!?) So it SHOULD sound something like the 300 i would think... but... does it? Would be really sweet to find a 1200s and replace the Mesa, even though the M2000 is a really great amp, I still like the Sunn better. But since the 300T is all tube and the 1200s is Solid State, the should be differences of course....

Just beware that amps made for US-market is run on 110v and for European market around 230v. I have a 300T and I´m pretty sure that there aren´t no switch for 110/240v.

It´s about the same prices here in Sweden. Around 700-10000 Euros. Some may go even cheaper.

Don´t know what he paid. I can ask him if it´s essential for identifying the bass....

Weird, there is a hot of the headstock already, Can´t you see it? Strange! EDIT: Do you see it now?

A friend of mine bought it on Ebay from a guy in Ireland and have absolutely no clue on what it is. The seller didn´t know either. Neck plate says "KGH" Otherwise I don´t think there are any brands or names on it. Maybe someone here could help us identify it? This is what it looks like right now. I´ve ordered a Pedaltrain Jr though and will try to fit all the pedals I need on that one, wich I know will be impossible.... Subblaster + Bassballs is a match made in heaven...!! The TS9 is a reissue with a bassmod, the SD9 is Japanese 80´s original wich also has been modded to let thru more bass. Sorry to say, I can´t tell what kind of mods were made, but it sounds great.

Wow. I am certain I will NOT buy the bass after this... Ofcourse the bass could be the real deal etc etc, but I really don´t want to do bizninz with someone with that reputation. Tha bass was tha -73 Telecasterbass modded with P-pickup thats on Ebay får 1395 pounds. Thanks for the info! I really was close to lay a bid on it but thought I should ask here first... Thanks a lot!
Looks nice. Does he have a website?
Yes he does! www.tks.se It´s all in Swedish though, since the company is small, he at this point only market himself through a swedish bass-forum and through recommendations. But you could se the different models on the site easily. 212 is a 2x12 2128 is a 2x12 with an 8" I think he has some new models for 2010 as well with 15" with 6" and so on. I´m very pleased with mine so far. Don´t know how it would stand upp against Aguilar/Genz Benz and such, haven´t A/B tested as said. But for the money it really kicks ass. Almost the same depth/bottom in the sound as my JCM 8000 2x15. I think it´s preferrably Emminence-speakers he uses but I´m a bit unsure of that.

I have a TKS 212 that weights just above 20kg. I think possibly 21kg, but not more. TKS is a small swedish brand and Tommy who builds them does it by hand. Of course he doesn´t build that many cabs, but he is focusing on lightweight cabs with a lot of punch/bottom. He has a 2x15 that weights 25kg. His 1x12 is really kickass. They´re also really affordable! I think a standard 2x12 costs around 400-450 Euros. I haven´t A/B tested one against Aguilar and such, but for me, it isn´t worth the difference in price. Here is my custom 2x12-cab:

Have found a -73 Telecasterbass wich is modded with P-pup on Ebay and wonder if anyone possibly have any feedback on the seller. The bass is at Spanish Guitar Centre in London if I´m informed correctly wich seems to have some kind of connection with andysguitarnet, whatever that might be. Does anybody know if it´s somewhat safe to buy and/or is there any rumours around the shop/seller?

First relic - Swedish Hardcore Relic Edition
blackparkas replied to blackparkas's topic in Build Diaries
Thanks for helping out with the english language! We swedes all think we speak english fluently.... And yes, I should have left it as ir was after the first round, I agree... But I just HAD to keep going... I´m taking this as one lession out of hopefully many. One of these days I´ll try relicing a body that doesnt cost like one weeks ration of Red Bull, and I´ll hopefully will know what to do or not to do then. I kind of like it the way it is now though, I´ll try the teabag-trick this weekend if I get the time, that will probably make some difference in the appearance of the body.
