  1. Thanks, yes for a Fender.
  2. There's several threads here about truss rods getting maxed out, which got me thinking I'm sure someone here could make them. No doubt they'd be a fairly good demand, as they're almost impossible to find/buy. Is there anyone here with the tools to make a batch? Or anyone here with some spare washers as I'm looking for some as the truss rod on my bass is maxed out?
  3. Is this right? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/365140097849?_skw=bass&itmmeta=01J8N4KCZ5P1BYB6JTN79W3KE1&hash=item55040bbb39%3Ag%3AB00AAOSw3Rtm9DkJ&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAAwHoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKn2xMf8tyyGr0%2B0QSLLFJu859FC1zakpzib9rre3pPrGAO4810X1Au4i2QwjTLrSb6SRcODQ7o4mox1d22DWjGNVCpntdyeyszlw%2Bl6ZRlqmbwWtlBni9IAy5IYVli0EkVSLGTjSSKY9QBUe4S%2Fgp7DoIc90qfZ%2Fcy%2BKBrLD1iNoqoHbvXQeYk%2BquUL%2FAukpvIce84t3VpfFs3eqcvxcqAOUWbyRIbowGZ4nQkgFpSbow%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR97PzaTFZA&LH_ItemCondition=7000|3000|2500|1500
  4. Swop the neck for a jazz one.
  5. Do you know what the tension is like with these?
  6. Don't they rust easily?
  7. JJMotown

    Tiny bass?

Series/parallel as the pickup is dimarzio.
  8. Lowering the strings will require higher tension to get to pitch, then if strings are higher. So will require more pressure to push them downward, not seeing how that's gonna make them easier to play?
  9. Yes, the bodies were mahogany or Ash, very heavy. The sunn were made mid 80s to early 90s, the encore from 89 till mid 90s, and Squier II were the third brand made in the India factory, late 80s to mid 90s. The squier II were not sold in Europe, but they turn up from time to time.
  10. What was the other brand made in the same factory again?
  11. Could just buy an old Encore, same bass but without the fender association, and higher price.
  12. Not seen one of these before? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204931586744?itmmeta=01J4VGSEGQ86WJ631D38VFK7CA&hash=item2fb6dfdab8%3Ag%3A0FsAAOSwujtmtgM3&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAAwORW4zN7iD1tZSolyuT3PHWpOLwN42yC1lbolVYeNzOgrnXMQ7OxCZmO9RXxPpL4jewimqRS26LR%2B9lc8kZaLp3bm7E6vdWwxHQiwX1dqD1O%2FuiXBPk1c%2FNehk1Of7NKUJHLAi4FD4XoCNQn%2BJSsEkxBp89vQjcPgrHoLZhyUXY6dqH99QIU1v%2FyH78wW2qeps2ndroSPNHE3KGKlUsmXKkEiE52pulI0r2Cl1HwJuFM3xXHL8TrSNDn%2F7fDcfqXCQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7bo5fCmZA&LH_ItemCondition=7000|3000|2500|1500
  13. What's the weight and nut width please?
  14. Found some correct size screws on ebay. Fit perfectly. No tools needed.
  15. Don't have the tools. Not an option.
  16. I've got some pickup screws for a Jazz, they're 35mm in total length, but are too long and struggling to screw them into the body (mahogany), I don't want to force them incase they snap off. So am looking for some shorter pickup screws for a Jazz, around 25mm in total length, does anyone know where I can get 4 or maybe 8 shorter length screws from?
  17. Nice, but no fret dots. Is this an oversight?
  18. Yes, tried various pressures. If it's too loose then the middle two strings don't get enough pressure, not compared to the E and G strings. My main issue is that all open notes sound dead, and every fretted note rings bright as they are played below the fret wrap which I got sitting on the 1st fret.
  19. Seen fret wraps around, so got me one to cut some overtones, although I do palm mute, I wanted to see what fret wraps are all about. I play motown and soul, but mostly rock and blues these days. I also play mostly with a pick for a more aggressive tone, so thought a fret wrap would help. Boy, was I wrong. It seems logical now I've tried a fret wrap, but all I found was playing notes just sound the same, loud, pronounced and twangy, as the wrap is above the notes being played. However, playing open notes and they sound flat and dead. So the sound goes from bright and twangy to dead on open strings. Totally unusable. I tried various pressure the wrap has on the strings, but just sounds plain bad. Really bad! Am I doing something wrong? I did check out some YouTube clips and noticed the wraps were used mostly for tapping, but for what I'm playing at the moment they certainly don't Rock!! Definitely no good for rock. 🤬
  20. "I have also added a vintage style tortoiseshell pickguard" Where is the pickguard from please?
  21. Possibly C shape.
