1. Hey guys I'm in a Muse tribute band, we did our first gig last night. However, When we were sound checking, if ever my Big Muff was set at a too high level it would start feeding back from my amp whenever there is NO signal going into it. So I have to Stomp it on/off whenever I am not playing anything. When I do play, it doesnt feed back. Is there ANY way I can get rid of this problem? and I am on a very tight budget atm 'til we do our first few gigs for free and then we will be earning big bucks through a manager that wants to get hold of us and said he'd make us rake the cash in! So, I REALLy need your help here, is there anything I can do to stop the feedback sound without turning the volume of the pedal down, because I need it set at that level to cut through my low end, cus I keep a lot of my low end up anyways with the Big Muff and other effects. Thanks guys.
2. yeahh, they are pretty good, tbh =] sound great
3. Hey gang Since I have upgraded my amp, I am going to be selling this lovely fella. I regret having to let this go, I was planning on using it as a back-up amp or running it live along with my current amp, but I could use the £££ since Christmas has just dented my pocket! I am really looking to save up for a Line6 POD XT, so this is gonna help my costs towards that. I bought this just over £200 brand new about a year or so ago from Reverb. It now retails are just under £190. This amp is really reliable, it has never let me down and it sounds great.. and it is LOUD! despite it being a 112 but it is powerful - 75w I played it at 75% volume before and my mum went ape****. She said if I did it again I'd be out the house, so I obviously haven't done it since! It has a headphone out socket (1/4 jack input so you might need an adapter) and you can also plug in an MP3 player and play along through the amp with your bass signal. It has build in compression and 4 amp models - I will state the features below the post. I'm asking for £100 for this, collected. If you can arrange a courier and cover the costs, then I will arrange for someone to be in at a certain time so he can collect it. It is in immaculate condition, literally as new except for a bit of dust. no marks or scuffs, brand new condition as you can see in the pictures! Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, its the best I could get! FEATURES - 4 Incredible Bass Amp Models: Clean, R&B, Rock, and Grind - Synth Bass - Full-time Opto Compressor - XLR Direct Out With Line 6’s exclusive A.I.R. processing - Pre Amp Out - 4 Programmable Model Memories - Headphone Out - Jam Along CD / MP3 1/8” Input - 10” Speaker - 75 Watts AMP MODELS Clean Inspired by the Eden Traveler, this model is all about clean, funk and fusion bass tone. It’ll give you all the warm lows and punchy highs you need R&B Inspired by a 1968 B-15 Flip Top, this model is a tribute to those late 60’s and early 70’s clean fat bass tones. It is the kind of tone you hear on most Motown recordings, as played by a pioneering young James Jamerson. Rock This model is inspired by the ’74 Ampeg SVT. This workhorse has appeared on innumerable recordings and arena stages worldwide. And now all the tone of the 300-pound behemoth 8X10 and head is available in your combo! Grind As the name would suggest, this is for modern rock lovers, Alice in Chains to Mudvayne and Rage Against The Machine. Based on a distorted SansAmp PSA-1 into an SVT in addition to a direct clean bass signal mixed in, this model gives you that angry, clear and punchy aggression that takes your sound to DEFCON 1.
4. I never trust plastic anymore, I had one break just by picking the bass up :| I say get a good quality thick one, like this: http://www.mansons.co.uk/shopping/categori...tar-strap-wide/ They cost a lot, but you know your bass will be safe for life. And 'cause of the thickness of the strap, its not only more safe ,but more comfortable.
5.
Boss, Korg. Korg, Boss. Boss, Korg. Korg, Boss. Everyone says the same thing. Forget that and get a real tuner: Peterson StroboFlip VS-F Virtual Strobe Tuner
that looks like something from south park or something but seriously +1 Korg Pitchblack
6. I cant believe nobody wants this beast.. well.. YET! there will be someone after this =] total bargain, tbh..
7. yeahh Ash, my favourite (Chris Wolstenholme) mixes up, too. he also uses a stack with a combo, but his rig is too confusing, he has a different head for every amp so he can change the EQ to suit a clean tone and an EQ to suit his effects tone. I'm pretty sure he keeps his bass low end, with a bit of treble, looses some of the bang on middle mids, and on his effects he turns the treble up to bring out the distortion sound and the low-low mids to bring out the growl a bit. Andy - I have checked my amp, they actually suggest for me to pair it with a 410 and a 115 (altho I think I am going to get a 410 to play safe with my sound.. im new to amp+cab, this is my first amp in that sense rather than combo's so im gonna keep it fairly safe for now) Thanks for the heads up, though!
8. currently, I dont have a rack, just a pedalboard. I guess i'll stick with the Live one for now, and then when I get some more money and build my rack I will then sell it, obtain a Pro and get a MIDI controller (if I see the logic in doing that.. however I dont think around £200 is worth it just to have a pedal off stage into a rack) but that will all be settled with cash thanks for the replies guys, i appreciate it =] will be saving me a few dollar!
9. How do you all think it would sound? Hopefully, as good as the whisky itself.. But somehow, I doubt it!
10. Or this. Only one control - volume. what more could anyone ever ask for?!
11. You might want to at least check it.. and check how many of the channels actually work. it could be 8, it could be 10, it could be 34. And then, choose a price you are happy with. Nobody is going to spend £200 on a risk that it would work or not.
12. thanks so much for the replies guys just saved me some lot of time and money i appreciate it! =] merry christmas to you all, and have a great new year!
13. Hey gang I'm deciding which would be the best option for me.. I would be using this live, ofcourse. But I think the Pro seems far more sleek and just looks completely better. However, since I will be using this live to trigger effects on/off and access different amp models.. do you think the Live one would be far more suitable? or would the pro one be great too? However, I'm thinking with the Pro model, I cant change effects between songs, it would have to go on at the start and off at the end of every song as it isnt foot-switch operable like the Live version. Any thoughts? Also, does anyone know if the Live version has the options to record, like the Pro model does?
14. This is a pretty good deal i reckon. It would be a shame if someone doesnt grab this up soon.. it isnt that often someone is selling a full sized rig here in one sale.. This will easily fill out a medium sized local venue, and still be LOUD Marshall are reliable amps, so buy with confidence that you have a few more years left in this kicking machine!
15. hey guys, I posted this in the off topic section, but I think it could be put here too, as it is after all a recorded process. so, my band needs backing tracks live we have made them, and we have panned them the way we need it backing track + click (left) backing track (right) so the drummer gets the left ear, and the audience gets the right ear however, we dont know what equipment we'll need to play this live at a venue. we dont know if its just simple to use a lead into the P.A, so can anyone help? all we have atm is a stereo phono lead with jack adapters, but we think we might need a D.I or two for each stereo channel, is that correct? any input would be great!
16. ahh nice one mate I was just wondering because I dont particularly like 115's. especially on their own. too boomy and thick for what i want. well, i guess a second 4x10 would never hurt anyone! but, would it be worth it? my amp atm is a 300w output, but the 410 I have with it atm is 250w (I think) so would adding another 410 even be worth it?
17. what would be the more punchier cab? im looking into getting another extension onto my cab, atm I used a 4x10. to me, though, 115's sound too boomy on their own. I use a 115 with a 210 at my rehearsal place and it sounds alright, but would a 410 and a 115 sound better than two 410's? any input would be EXCELLENT!
18. alright mate.. well, better safe then sorry I guess in that case, this has probably been asking a lot. but do you know of any value brick power supplies that will power around 4-6 pedals?
19. it powers it and runs fine (as of now_ im just hoping that it wont effect it in the long run? will having a battery in there as well as the PSU connected keep the voltage stricted to 9v?
20. hey guys just wondering, is it okay to use a 12v PSU with my 9v effects pedals? im looking to power my Digitech Bass Synth and my Korg Pitchblack off of the 12v PSU and my Big Muff will have the reliable battery in it the big muff lasts about 6 months off of a full battery whereas the Digitech Bass Synth lasts for about an hour, maybe 2.. so I really need a PSU for that will it damage the pedals? effect my tone by having too much power? or any negative effects on my sound? or the pedals itself? if so, i'll have to stop being a stingy git and buy a proper 9v PSU!!
21. well i've already ordered my pitchblack, and im unsure of how im going to route what I want. thanks for offering, though.
22. yeahh.. i'll draw up a diagram and see exactly how im going to do this before I go ahead and buy something like this.. the first one you shown me doesnt have silent switching - it bangs when you switch channels. so I'll have to invest in a more quality one if I do go for something like this. well thanks a lot for your help mate! means a lot.
23. so i literally just plug my bass into one of the inputs, and then have one output to one amp and and the other output to the other amp? is that really all there is to it? and also that will not damage the amp at all, will it? thanks so much for your help so far mate!
24. ohh, i see. okay i'll refer it as dual amping, then! and well I just bought a korg pitchblack.. so it would be pretty silly to buy a TU-2 just for that.. do you know of anything else thats specially designed to dual amp that you could refer me to? and yeahh i was thinking that, as the blend option on the pedal is there.. although i thought it did have 2 outputs, but i guess not hehe.
