1. The few billion spiders are not for sale. I'm building something. Pics and some photos are up. Apologies for my playing but for some reason I didn't turn on a metronome and it isn't the slickest thing to play.
2. No problem. Again I'll be waiting til people have seen pictures and videos but consider yourself first in the queue. Do remember though that it is a precision neck so it suits larger hands better and you might want to give the electronics a good do over before putting it in any kind of important situation.
3. You're 3rd at the moment. You haven't seen the resonator. I don't think I can give it away for ethical reasons: the headstock seems to have been repaired with a poorly applied mixture of glue and screws and the resonator cone itself is held in place with the same overly large (and sharp) wood screws so the whole thing is a death trap. (For the record I actually found this in the garage of an old flat along with a TV and a few billion spiders. Pretty sure there are still spiders in the resonator cone.)
4. One person's got in ahead of you (minutes after the op) but I'll keep you posted. I'll get the pictures and videos up before I finalize anything too.
5. I'll give you £1 if you take my shitty resonator guitar too
6. (Pictures/video pending, typing this up at work while I have the willpower) Bought from some dude in Bristol and amputated all the bits that weren't working, stripped right down to a basic precision bass. Pickup routing for split coil pickup and a double jazz pickup (this wasn;t functioning, I think it had rusted up so I whipped it out). Very nice flat n' wide precision neck, varnished but well used so not sticky. I'd dismantle it and keep the neck if it'd fit on any of my other instruments. Electronics need a lot of TLC. While you can plug and play it the pots and output jack are noticeable loose (and in the wrong places) and a new cover would need to be made if you were to gig it. Supplied without strings as this has been my motowny bass of choice for a while so it has either Thomastik Infeld or Ernie Ball flats on it, either way I'll be keeping them. You don't want the funk that's kept in them anyway. I can't overstate how nice this bass is to play but it's been a 'project bass' for about 6 years at this point and I haven't once had the time and drive to do anything with it. Collection from Colnbrook (SL3) ideally. I've no amp set up at the moment (nor the room for one, hooray for VST plugins) but you're welcome to test it acoustic like. Can travel into London if fares are covered but it'll be supplied without a gig bag (none spare). No delivery, I'm afraid, as my schedule doesn't allow me to wait in for couriers.
7. Cheapey Chinese Spector; defretted/filled/varnished by yours truly; heavily used in the past but now gathering dust. Free to a good home where it might get played. Ideal for anyone wanting to have a go at a fretless without having to spend any money. Action is as low as it'll get without getting farty but it's still a little bit of a strength exercise with one or two very small dead zones. Currently has a set of embarrassingly patriotic strings on it: red, white and blue coated DR Hi-Defs - supplying these free of charge as none of my other basses are humbucking so I can't use coated strings on them without getting static crackles. Electronics are functioning, two passive EMG humbuckers (not HZ series) with vol/vol/tone, there's a second tone knob which doesn't work but both tone knobs affect both pickups so it was completely redundant anyway. Huge chunk of varnish missing from the back, I think I attempted to smooth it down at one point, I don't remember; I got this bass halfway through uni so I don't remember much of its early life. See (pending) pictures for more details. Whoever takes it must promise to either use it or pass it on to someone who. No binning it. Getting rid because it's not getting used and it's taking up space, which is in short supply.
8. For sale; no trades, thank you. 1. Mooer Mod Factory - Digital Multi Effects. £25 plus postage. Good selection of sounds from this box from choruses to ring modulators and other weirdness. I pissed about with on my my own for about 4 hours when I first got it. "Used" condition with a few scratches in the paint here and there but in perfect working order. Needs a 9v power supply in order run, there's no room for a battery in this little one. 2. Ashdown Dual Band Compressor. £15 plus postage.A big chunk of metal but some pretty nice tones. Sadly it's no use to me as the fuzz pedal I use is very temperamental and demands to be at the front of my signal chain and, as you can see from the packaging, this compressor is only for use with low output, passive instruments (or else it farts out.) "Very used" condition with a missing battery cover but still very useable, assuming your bass isn't too hot. Special offer: Buy both and I'll throw in postage free! It's a pain in the arse to get to the post office so I'd rather not go twice.
9. Perfect condition, boxed and price includes delivery. (Pictures soon.) Great little pedal that does it all; chorus, flange, phase, wah, etc. Good for someone who uses these effects infrequently, rather than spending huge sums on one specific effect. Also does some rather crazy sh*t like envelope ring modulation and stutter tremelo. I spend a good few hours messing with it when I first got it but it sadly has no place in my current project. So 30 quid by bank transfer or trades for whathaveyou.
10. I'll have it. £15 delivered? I'll pm after work. :-)
11. Again. If it's still here on payday next week then I'll grab it. No doubt a cheap Woolly Mammoth clone won't hang around long though.
12. Really nice pedal, this. I might scoop it up if it's still here come payday.
13. Bagsy the mammoth clone. Will pm after work.
14. Video here As part of a degree project I've started a YouTube channel and I need some quick feedback for the report. Post it here or there, nice or nasty, it all helps!
15. Bought his JV(ish) Squier. Smooth deal, would recommend.
16. Cheers everyone. I actually just reopened the survey. I got so many responses that the sample size filled up overnight!
17. Hi, I'm conducting a survey on online video lessons (specifically bass guitar) for my 3rd year final projects. If you could spend a few minutes to fill in this survey, I'd be very grateful. Survey Thanks!
18. Me old bass. Feel free to re use my pictutes (assuming it's still in the same condition I left it.) Lodestone were a great company that made really cool jazzes and precision but failed due to not being Fender. The bridge is nice and chunky and the pickups are very smooth and modern sounding. It took to being a fretless really well to so at £60 this is a steal.
19. Even better. Could I see a closeup of the headstock decal? (Feel free to PM to me if you don;t want to overbump the thread.)
20. Possibly interested. Would you be able to meet in Bristol?
21. I can't tell from the photos, what colour is that finish? Is it a Fiesta Red or more of a pink?
