  1. I’m using mine ( PBass with pick ) as image ( shape pushed in and trick is drop the 340hz slider to remove honk ) Dont use compressor as it drops volume slightly and smothers tone a bit
  2. Every time I see someone selling a bass secondhand it always seems mostly to be a Jazz bass !! Where have all the reasonably priced PBass guitars gone !!
  3. Yes of course and welcome 👍
  4. What songs have they got you playing ? Good luck with the audition
  5. No pre amp for me but I’m about to add the TC Spark Booster to the front end 👍
  6. Not madness if gigging the O2 !!
  7. I agree the ABM600 has a quality about it. Im now using the 4 way footswitch with mine to add a touch of drive when needed and turn the compressor on and off Waiting on my Roqsolid amp cover to arrive
  8. Now I’m a convert to all that is ABM I thought I should start a posting topic for all owners of Ashdown ABM series amps and cabs I’m learning quickly that the ABM600 head is a true workhorse gigging kind of amp with a lot of sounds waiting to be tweaked out. ABM cabs I’ve only used the Pro Neo Cabs ( sealed ) but I’m very pleased with the sound / weight
  9. TC Spark Booster and kick it on during solos etc
  10. Ashdown will sort it … great service
  11. Yep it’s nice to have just in case When I wanted one earlier this year there were no stocks anywhere
  12. Yep I didn’t use it either, new this year thinking I may need it but never did However the FS-4 on the ABM I use for compression and drive
  13. Yes it’s the RM amp footswitch for drive and Sub
  14. Anyone looking for one of these ? I no longer need this with my ABM as it uses a different footswitch
  15. I think you will be ok,if you have a “hot output bass” just flick the pad switch on. Works well this amp and although mine is a backup amp to my ABM600 I think the LBT is a really nice amp The compressor on it seems to add a bit of grit to the tone if you run it past noon etc Simple but useable EQ Very loud too
  16. As the OP of this topic I find myself feeling somewhat guilty as I’ve just sold my new RM800 EVO II head With the ABM600 I didn’t see the need of keeping it ( both excellent amps ) and I still have my Orange LBT as a backup amp which I nearly sold too ! Seems a waste to have a new amp head doing very little so I may still let the LBT go but get an old A/B head as back up
  17. +1 this ^… also the lower cost RM cabs as they do 112,115 and 210 cabs
  18. Yep +1 this ^
  19. Boss have introduced new versions of the old BCB pedal cases I’ve ordered the BCB30X for £36 delivered for my new TU3 tuner and my G30 Relay receiver Not as sexy as Pedaltrain but a simple low cost case / board for up to three pedals in the version I’m going for
  20. I sometimes when playing watch mine and think oh crap it’s gone into the red zone !! I end up turning it down and upping the output volume a little I wouldn’t worry about it and use your ears to judge if clean sounding or distorted Shows up more in low E string or low B string for 5 string players
  21. Search for the older Ampeg BA110 combo as they are very good for the money and home There is also a BA108 which has an 8” speaker which is also decent and low cost The BA110 is the model the Rocket series just replaced so still a newish model but great value
  22. I changed mine on my Players Series PBass and it was night and day better ! Not so much in tone or sustain but that improved ( noticeable as a pick player ) but the saddles do not move or screws undo etc like the original bridge it comes with I used the chrome / brass Fender HiMass which I believe they use on a few of the USA models Easy job and worth doing and they look good too
  23. I’m now 99% pick playing and like Ultex and Tortex picks but recently liking Flex .. they are warmer but not as soft as nylon and not as clicky as Tortex
  24. I’ve also recently found that it’s better to create the Ashdown Scoop sound by not using the Shape OUT ( on ) as the amp is pushing a lot of power through the low end. Its better with Shape IN ( off ) and pulling down the 340hz slider Increase the bass to taste etc This gives you far more EQ control over 9 bands and easier to EQ the room to prevent a boomy sound And as you said it gets / needs to be less bassy as we increase the volume Naturally all this with adjustments to the input gain to stay out of the red
  25. Nice rig .. I have the 210 cabs and they pair very well with my ABM600 At first I thought I should of purchased the ported compact versions but I’m now happy and they work well in my rock covers band. You can carry them in one hand too I got Roqsolid covers made for mine I also place an anti vibration rubber mat on top to stop anything vibrating which helps the lighter RM heads too.
