  1. If you’re a soul / funk player then Ampeg, Ashdown, Fender may be a bit vintage sounding for you Mark Bass would be the way to go I think as they are better at the clean tone stuff
  2. Funny thing is I’ve gone back to the old guitar lead again !
  3. The new Ampeg Venture series seems to be a slow burn and not that many users or reviews I did see one sold on here V12 recently so are they a disappointment or a good replacement to the PF series ?
  4. I’ve just purchased it !!
  5. Wasn’t this recently sold ??
  6. Thanks Dan I’ve really enjoyed your reviews in the past
  7. Life isnt always “ logical” my initial plan was to stop gigging hence why I let go my heavy / large amp rig. We have all been there before I’m sure sell stuff and later regret it ! I have an opportunity to play again in a new band more to my liking so I’m exploring that and needed a gig worthy amp. I still kept my SVT 112AV cabs so the PF800 will do with that setup Either way I’m happy to explore my options but in hindsight I should of kept my original rig but it was a heavy beast to lug around so in a way I’m better off now
  8. Sold my Vintera PBass to Nigel ( nbpartnership ) and it was a smooth transaction Trusted buyer and great communication
  9. Did you channel scan before performing?
  10. Especially sounds good played with a pick 👍
  11. I still think Ampeg is my favourite amp brand and I’ve owned SVT-CL V4B x 2off Ampeg PF500 Ampeg PF800 About to become a PF800 owner again soon as I prefer the look of them compared to the Venture Series
  12. Just found a PF800 on Reverb so I’ve gone for that !
  13. Much louder or a bit louder ?
  14. Is the PF50T close to the V4B for volume ?
  15. Anyone using the MarkBass LM iv ?
  16. I don’t think the PF500/800 are in production?? Since the Venture series came along
  17. Yes I had the RM800 and it was nice so that’s a contender
  18. Having sold off my big gig stuff I’m considering a 500w class D head to use partly at home and gigs if the opportunity arises ( may or may not ) Not looking at high end stuff and perhaps second hand Really fancy an Ampeg PF500 or 800 to match my only remaining SVT112AV cab but open to other suggestions Ideally max price £700 What do you guys suggest ? Anyone holding on to a PF series ?
  19. Nice amps and I still believe it’s very close to the ABM600 but looks nicer in black
  20. I’ve just got the Ampeg Micro VR yo use with my SVT112AV cab It’s a nice amp for the money and definitely an Ampeg tone Some claim it has a noisy fan but I found it to be quieter than the Trace Elf and acceptable Very light and small and perfect for home use or acoustic small venue gigs
  21. Keeley Bassist Compressor Pedal As new condition Boxed and Velcro on underside Price includes UK postage
  22. Well the Ampeg Micro VR doesn’t disappoint. It’s a fine little amp and with a 12” speaker cab it sounds very nice. Perfect home rig
  23. It was until I pulled it from sale and decided to make a home rig out of it with the Micro VR head They are lovely looking cabs too, important for home use Might pop feet on end so I can flip it on to its end like BF cabs tend to do
  24. Well I agree it was a bargain for someone else to enjoy and I’ve no regrets selling my large heavy rigs. I will miss them but then remember I don’t need them at all only a sensible small rig at home so I can play when I feel the urge
