I haven't had so many people coming up to me after a gig to tell me how nice they thought my bass was ever in the past 25 years as I have since buying the green machine. No picture I've seen online of these does it justice. I really must take some of my own

I agree with everyone who says to try as many as you can. From my own personal experience, every Japanese Fender I've played has been top notch in terms of both playability and quality. I've always been disappointed with MIA ones as I've always thought that for the extra money I was expecting them to be a lot better. Every MIM I've played until recently has felt cheap and nasty. My current P Special is the only MIM bass I've picked up that felt well made, sounded good, looked good and played really well.

Ashdown ABM410 4x10" cab - much cheapness - £120
Delberthot posted a topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I bought this earlier in the year to use underneath my other ABM410 but I haven't been in a position to actually use both of them. Its a Made in China ABM cab which has had a bit of a hard life. The tweeter blew so its been removed, one of the ports is missing from the back, the nuts are missing that attach to the input jacks and the grill is a bit dented and the tolex is looking quite tatty. But - I'm waiting to hear back from Ashdown to get a replacement port and I'm going to replace both input jacks before it goes to its new home. If you're looking for a solid cab that you don't have to worry about getting scratched or anything when you're loading it in and out of the van / car / bin lorry then this is for you. These are 600w @ 8ohms and £429 new but I am offering it at the rediculously low price of £120. If you're looking for postage then it is doable but I'll need to get some cardboard. I'm also selling an Epi Tbird, Westfield Precision, Boss DS1, PH3, GEB7 pedals and a Chord OC-3 clone in the relevant sections -
I'm having a big clearout and getting rid of everything that I don't use. This is a Westfield Precision that I bought on the spur of the moment but only ever used a couple of times as a backup so its been sitting in a cheap but fully functional gig bag doing nothing. It still has the plastic on the scratchplate. Looking for £60 collected.

I've decided to go for a completely clear floor area bereft of any cables and so on so am selling all of my pedals. Last one left is a Boss GEB-7 7 band bass Eq pedal. This one is made in Taiwan. £40 posted. I'm also listing an Ashdown ABM410, Epiphone Thunderbird and Westfield Precision as part of the big clearout in the relevant sections.

One thing I discovered last night using mine for the first time was that the place we usually rehearse, I normally get a really bad hum through my amp and so does the keyboard player. Imagine my surprise when we both turned up with G30s and no hum whatsoever. I also managed to snap off one of the wee tags that hold the clippy bit on the recevier while trying to turn it the other way. I'm going to be zip tying it onto my strap anyway but that's a bit of a pain.

Does AnyoneStill Make Rackmount Tuners?
Delberthot replied to Delberthot's topic in Accessories and Misc
Thanks everyone - think I'm going to go with the rack tray idea and attach my tuner and wireless receiver to it. -
I'm looking to trade my nearly new Hiscox hard case to suit Precision and Jazz shaped basses for a rectangular one in good to mint condition. Its one of the STD-EBS ones with the plastic still on the Hiscox logo and keys still taped to the underside of the accessory comparment lid I need the extra wee trough bit that you get alongside the neck like on Rickenbacker cases to store my padded strap as I have my wireless transmitter fitted permanently on it and don't want to just put it in the cable bag and get trashed. I'm only interested in meeting up as I need a case for the bass every weekend between now and October so can't chance not getting it through the post in time and I don't intend to sell it. I'd be looking for something along the lines of a Fender one but if you have something suitable and would prefer a Hiscox then let me know

I'm going wireless which means that I want to have a rack tuner instead of one on the floor so there are no cables anywhere near me.Trouble is hardly anyone seems to be making them anymore. I really don't want to spend £300 for the Peterson and that leaves me with the Behringer which is meant to be rotten and the White Horse one that Gear 4 Music sell. Does anyone else still make them? I had hoped to buy myself another Fender one but don't see them anywhere

Thanks guys - I've just ordered myself a G30

Thought I'd bump this rather than begin a new thread since most of the people who have commented have the Line6. I stuck between the G30 and G50. I've read a lot of reviews where the battery door on the G30 is really fiddly, in some cases broken off, and other stories where its opened during a gig sending the batteries flying. I know the different features and plastic v. metal housing but its the battery door thing that would make me go for the G50. Obviously I'd like to save myself £100 if possible. Has anyone here had any issues with the battery door or solutions to avoid anything happening mid set?

Fender 3-bolt neck and micro-tilt adjustment. Evil or genius?
Delberthot replied to mcnach's topic in Bass Guitars
So its like shimming a neck but you don't have to take the neck off? -
Played a pub gig with the rock band tonight. We haven't played together since April as we all have other bands and just get together every so often and boy did it show in the first half A couple of songs we've done for ages, I was convinced that I was going for F# when in fact it should've been G. We had a natter during the break and came back a different band. Played the Who track "Won't get fooled again" and I was like a dog with two boabies. For an active bass, the Precision has a really raw, dirty, old school passive tone. Especially played at full tilt into the passive input of the Hartke, lots of lovely overdrive from overdriving the preamp valve. My wife was there and she had loads of people telling her how good they thought I was. That's part of the reason why I still play in a rock band. In the wedding band most people are there to dance, get pished and request stupid songs so its nice to get compliments for doing something that I love.

Do you ALWAYS change with the drummer?
Delberthot replied to stefBclef's topic in General Discussion
I've been playing in different bands with my drummer for about 18 years so we almost know what each other is going to play before we play it. Regardless of the timing, it always works. If you want one of my favourite examples of where the bass and drums are doing completely different things then listen to Siberian Khatru byYes -
If you're set on flats then you're going to have to try some. I've tried all of them over the years and came across Rotos last for some reason. Personally, with a bass fitted with humbuckers they are the be all and end all regarding flats but with an active Fender PJ they're sh!te. I've gone back to rounds with the Fender Deluxe Precision Special Special Something thingy but with my Ibanez Doug Wimbish fitted with soapbars I still use those Roto flats. Active Ibanez basses also love Ti flats, especially on 6 stringers. Chromes on a Rick are deadly as in they can simulate arthritis within a couple of hours of playing due to the sh"te ergonomics of the bass and high tension of the strings Seriously though, I gave up on flats until I tried rotos

The three most annoying things a punter can say are, in no particular order: 1) "Can you put xxxxxx on?" - Do you see record decks? 2) "Can you sing xxxxxxxxxx?" - well our singer can but what are the rest of use meant to do? We're not a barber shop quartet (thankfully) 3) After being told that we possibly couldn't do a song because no one of us have heard of it, punter says "its easy, it goes ner ner ner ner ner".At which point our singer says "Do you want to sing it?" which usually has them doing a David Copperfield and vanishing to the toilets. My wedding band has been together now for nearly 17 years and we pride ourselves on being able to try most stuff but even our male singer might struggle with a Kate Bush Song.

Anyone used Stageclix wireless with an active Fender bass?

Cheers buddy, that does sound promising. -
Anyone used Stageclix wireless with an active Fender bass?
Delberthot replied to Delberthot's topic in Accessories and Misc
Yes I have read through everything but was wondering if anyone who had used it with an active Fender found that they could use it without having to run the extra thingy to get the transmitter away from the bass. I don't want to buy one then find out that I have to buy the extra bit. Not having a cable at all is the one thing that's winning it for me between the G30 and the Stageclix.
