Similar to my WBAC experience, where the computer in their office offered considerably lower than the website had, but the salesman rang his boss and upped the offer to something a lot closer to what I was expecting. With the benefit of hindsight I should have kept that car though - a pale blue metallic Honda Jazz might not have been as cool as the BMW I kept hold of, but it would have given me considerably less trouble than the BMW, and certainly a lot less trouble than the car that replaced the BMW!

Our guy has a tendency to just throw his in the boot of his car with no case and then leave it there. He's done a firmware update recently which has solved the issue of his pitchbender messing up, but I suspect it's on its way out. He also has a tendency to just throw cables into a satchel willy nilly, and every time he opens it up it makes me twitchy.

Having an amp crap out on me on a NYE gig was the most fun thing ever! These days I think my bandmates think I'm a bit odd for having spares of everything, but having had two amp failures at gigs I'm not taking any chances. I worry for them if they have a failure though. Drummist always has spare sticks and skins, but our guitarist has a Boss Katana combo with a footswitch that's a bit temperamental and no means to DI from her pedalboard, and our keyboardist's keyboard isn't treated very well, so if either of them have an issue we're screwed. We were nearly in that situation last summer when the keyboard had a bit of a moment, leading to a hasty rearrangement of the set, but no lessons appear to have been learned.

Same. Our singist wants us to push for £400 but nobody wants to pay that these days, so we normally get £325-350. He flat out refuses to do anything for under £300, even if that means we hardly have any gigs, so we're left playing to a handful of regular venues where we've played before because everywhere else is skint.

If they've accepted it as a return and paid a refund there's no issue, they're free to sell it again as B stock.

Depends what measures you've taken to test whether it's the bass or anything you've plugged it into. If you've plugged it into an amp that wasn't on and assumed that the bass was faulty, then yes you're going to get the shop saying there's no problem because there isn't one. If you've tried it with three amps that have all been confirmed to work with other instruments, tested multiple cables, changed the batteries, etc. and it stilll doesn't work, then unless the person you return it to is a complete arse they're going to send it away for testing, or will just replace/refund there and then.

I'm sure Andertons have a warranty on products they sell, but outside that if a fault occurs with a product within six months of purchase then under the Consumer Rights Act it's deemed to have been sold in that condition, so you're entitled to ask for it to be replaced or refunded. There's a little more to it than this but that's your statutory backup.

Down by the nut I don't use them, but when I go up the dusty end I need them because I'm not used to that territory and any reference points are very welcome.

BF actually suggest you can run a Two10 with an 800W amp as long as it's clean.

If I could have afforded to have kept it I'd still be using my old Marshall Super Bass head. I'd love to know what it would have sounded like through my Barefaced cab, as it already sounded pretty good through the Marshall 4x12 I used to have (even though that was fitted with guitar-tuned speakers not bass-tuned ones).

I was given a bass and hated it, a cheap and nasty Wesley five-string with a neck like a tree trunk.

I still have my Cort-made Korean Squier P I bought new in 1998. Definitely coming with me to the grave, that one.
