  4. I have the Magellan, I initially bought an AG700. For me the AG was pish, I swapped if for the Genzler with gig bag, later adding a PROEL switch. I must say, this (for me IMO) is the best Head I’ve had in years for flexibility and ease of control. Furthermore according to Mr Genzler it’ll do 2Ohms providing you don’t push the input gain into the red too much. The asking price is a STEAL for such a shiny bright nearly new object of electrickery. GLWTS Karl PS: That’s the issue with tyre kickers Karl, they usually have no intention of buying....
  5. An excellent review I’ve just stumbled upon, I concur ( not so elequently) with all the comments. I have found my Genzler to fill in all the holes that other heads have. On personal service, I mailed Mr G ( well the website) regarding not being able to log my purchase for warranty purposes. Mr G had it sorted, I asked another question: would it run at 2 Ohms, His reply was yes but don’t overdrive the Gain ..... I use 3 x PJB C4’s at the 2.67 setting. It really is a sublime head.
  6. I’ve followed this saga with interest, so much so I have e mailed ‘Handbox’ from their website twice still waiting for a reply. How can I buy one of these electrickery Valve jobbies?
  7. Oh, I did have my Fender Jazz (a ‘67) salmon pink matching headstock, nicked from the Cavern...twice. Never got it back the second time had to pay £40.00 for a Precision!...
  8. The one about “little yellow pills”? 😂
  9. Addendum: During the late 60’s a band I was in ( Earl Preston’s Realms ) played the Cavern in Mathew Street Liverpool. The Cavern agency (Ray McFall and Bob Wooler ran this) booked us in. The schedule would run something like this: Tuesday lunch session, Tuesday Night session, Gear already in situ was ‘loaned’ same on Thursday, lunch and evening with no quibbles either way on utilisation of gear. It was common to work the week and then ‘double’ on a Friday and Saturday, Cavern first then a gig the other side of town or in the sticks. P.A’s were loaned/borrowed as was amps and drums ( sans cymbals and snare ). Ther was also the small matter of the ‘All Nighter’ at the Cavern on a Saturday night followed by an afternoon session at the ‘Sink’ ( Rumbling Tum Hardman Street) and maybe a Sunday night Doubler. The maximum gig exposure was therefore : 2 on Tuesday, 2 on Thursday, doubler Friday night, doubler Saturday night, all-nighter Saturday, Sunday afternoon and a doubler Sunday night. 12 Gigs in all, not every week but mostly once a month. Gear was left for others to use knowing that if it broke ( it never seemed to break ) it was fixed! I was 19 at the time and whilst protective of my gear did not have an issue, nobody did. However, many years later in my late 20’s at a charity gig a certain John McNally ( ex Searchers ) used my rig for rhythm, blew it, never said thanks or offered an apology or to pay for the repair, never again I said and I did’nt And won’t. Times have changed, unfortunately people don’t, “ lend it, break it fix it “. I now pay more for a set of strings than I paid for my first Framus Star Bass (Single cut). 😱 Reminiscing of an old man part 1
  10. My three pence worth: whilst I appreciate your dilemma, in my experience people do not take care of borrowed equipment. Personally I wouldn’t not lend the Amp and certainly not the bass. Just state your case and neither a borrower or a lender be 🤓
  11. I have this EBS Black Label Studio Edition Octabass Triple Mode Octave Divider (Phew)! Unmarked, in its box with the instruction manual and the rubber feet. It’s been used a couple of times in rehearsal, taken off and boxed up ready to go. It’s a great pedal and the best I have ever attempted to use ( see pedal peddler 1 & 2 ). It’s not going to be used in the current project so here it is as Harry Brand Spankers as you can get. Thanks for looking The price includes postage UK Mainland
  12. Just a note, I ordered a PROELGF22 on-off pedal for my Genzler Magellan 800 10th March, (the way you do). Its an inexpensive piece of kit (cheap even). Paid me £10.99 opted for free delivery and waited. I received the pedal on the 16th March opened the package to find a pedal that was obviously used, covered in dust despite being in a sealed poly bag and badly marked, a return maybe, but not what I ordered. I emailed 'Bob' immediately to complain and attached snaps. Nothing until Saturday 17th , a mail asking me to feedback..... I did, not a good feedback. I got a fairly quick reply on the Monday from Louis, BOB was on holiday... I stated my case and sent more snaps, suggesting that if this happened on a £10.99 order what would happen for a serious piece of kit! Louis said he would check the stock and send me a 'new' pedal.. Apparently there was only one decent pedal from his stock that he would send, we agreed on the replacement. the replacement arrived 21st and was, as Louis stated was pristine, new. This man bent over backwards to give a small change customer satisfaction, I was mightily impressed, in other fields this might have been pushed under the virtual carpet and ignored. 13. It is the later/last model that Thomas EICH produced under the TecAmp name, it’s a ‘doppelgänger’ of the EICH T500. Save yerself a shedload of beer tokens.
  14. Of the Basses that have departed from my collection, the Streamline is the one I regret selling the most... GLWTS
