1.
Whilst we're on the topic of Thunders, The Bass Gallery in Camden has a 1A in the window at the moment. I asked on Saturday how much & was told Er... dunno, it's not on the system... probably about £100. Their number... 020 7267 5458 They also had a mint Aria SB-1000 in Dark Oak for the princely sum of £850 - ouch!
My Aria sb-1000 cost me £120 in 1989 (and it was just like that one!) I have owned both and the Westone is better. The main problem with the Aria was the weight and I always felt the balance was not completely right in the instrument. Don't get me wrong, I did love it at the time but when I look at it I know I look at it through rose tinted glasses. I would not want to be having that thing around my neck for any length of time again. I get neck problems now, I loved the Aria bass at the time but it was cumbersome. However, it did have a good range of tones (as I remember).
2. Its a lovely bass, looks like it has been look after. I would prefer the iiia, but then again I know lots of people who would.
3. Sorry been awake all night with work and my body clock is getting back to normal. Its like jetlag!

6. Simon73-RealName:Simon I Stated playing bass when I was about 14 or 15, I used to pick up my brother in laws bass. I ended up buying my 1st bass when I was 16 (It was an aria sb 1000). Played it for a few years and did the odd gig and jam session in a pub. Stopped playing in my early 20s. Decided to pick it up again last year. Getting back to it again now, and im enjoying it. I work as a Mental Health Support Worker for a crisis team. My work want to send me to college next year to get my qualifications. Mariied to linz who is an oracle and she keeps my feet on the ground. I still have a long way to go with my bass and Linz thinks I am better than I rate myself...
7. No shes not Austrian.. Linz is a mixture of Scotish, Italian, Egyptian with some english thrown in for good measure. Love the Stranglers, JJ Burnel was one of my favorite bassists when I was growing up as well.
8.
These 2 are both good instruments. Squier 70's VMJ But very different. Try before you buy!
Both your basses are nice but I do like the look of that squier. Its a very good looking bass! Will have to try one out someday.
9. I knew about that one all ready.
10.
Cheers Tinman, now Simon wants a really expensive one instead of the lower priced one he HAD been happy to settle for!
No, I want a jaydee built. That is a very long term goal and I will get it one day when I finally finish uni again.
11. Linz is an artist (Well she paints pictures and things like that). We could make a fortune.
12. Normally use Rotosounds. Its mainly out of habit.
13. +1 on the roland cube, its a nice amp. I started playing again last year and with a bit of advice off here (bassworld) I ended up with an Ashdown Electric Blue 1x15 combo, I got it from dolphin music and the service was excellent! They sell them for £219. They also do one with a 12" speaker for £179. Hopefully you will find something that you like.
14. Now that does look nice. I can see why you want one!
15. How long will it take to be built and what exactly are you getting??
