1.
10.5's only have one speaker ..
yeah, but the 10's have two, the 10.5 is a 10 (almost) cut in half
2.
No and yes !! The cabs will be 8 ohms (not sure that suitable 10" drivers are available as 4 ohm) so yes full power isnt available. It will be more like a total of 300W. This should be loud enough though the BFD cabs are typically 3db more sensitive anyway! D
If the drivers are 8ohm, could you wire two in parallel (or is it series?) to give a 4ohm load? and use the superfly to drive two omni10's?
3. so can you run one cab from one output and leave the other channel unconnected? and can you mix two different rated cabs, i.e. 4ohm one channel and 8ohm the other
4.
Still using the Samson Airline, works fine for me and dead easy to switch basses mid-gig.
yeah, I've got one of these, bought from gaf on bassworld, it works fine and fits on my pedalboard. The only down side is my DI+ hisses when it's switched on.
5. I have three, which I think is a bare minimum, a fretted four, a backup fretted four, and a fretless four. I am trying to reign in my GAS for a Bongo 5 (or even a 6). As far as a maximum goes, as many as you can fit in your house/ shed etc oh yeah, congrats on getting the Bongo5
6. my 2 cents.... Having owned a fender aerodyne, I have to say I didn't find it sonically versatile, but it did have one good sound. It's great strengths to me were its fantastically fast neck and its light weight. The downsides were that lack of sounds available and the 'ridge' along the edge of the body where your right arm rests when you're playing it. I sold mine just after I got my Bongo, and wouldn't go back to to passives now - I can cut through the mix using the eq on the bass. If you want to move the active MIM jazz along and you can get along with the bongo's shape (I know some can't but it fit's you like a glove so to speak) I would suggest you try one out. I don't think an aerodyne will improve your position (even tho' I still have a soft spot for them)
7. here's mine, still very much work in progress, I'll probably get rid of the FT-2 when I get to grips with the G5, and I fancy building a tube OD/distortion to replace the MXR bassDI. I'll have to finish this first. The row of jack sockets is for eight true bypass loops, which will be controlled by eight footswitches on the bottom row. I'll be able to switch different groups of pedals on and off with one footswitch,... eventually!
8. hello from pbd from bassworld erm basstalk gaaah, I'm a bloody noob again
