No ther is no urgency, just thought I would bump it! Good to see we are still all there with it. Its difficult being in the far corner of kent and out the way!
  7. Yes, I did see that. Was a bit pricy for me and I would still love the 3a.
  8.
Blimey! I 2. Simon73 - thank you very much for the birthday greeting (you must be a very nice young man!) and.... 3. I took all your advice on board and spent a few hours on Saturday afternoon checking out various amps. I settled on an Eden Nemesis N8 because it sounded the best when I hooked my bass up to it. I'm sure some of you will knock my choice (that's fine btw) but for me, right now, this is the amp for me. Kathryn
My god, young man, thankyou! Have not been called that in a while. Was accused of going through a mid life crisis at work today at the ripe old age of 34! (The cheek of it). As for your amp choice, good on you, you have tried something and found what you like, thats what it's all about. Have fun with it. Simon
  9. I use AKG, not sure which model they are but I do like them!

So this thread has been going sometime and there has been great debate if it should be held in east or the west of surrey (or any where else)! ok does that matter, I don't live in surrey and can travel almost any where, I was looking at the midlands one (Like Nick was) and we need to stop debating it and come to some decisions if it will ever come together, so date, place and time is needed.
  13.
Chicken wire???
Don't show her that, she works for the police and with her mouth! (We have both type of music here, Country and Western!)
  14. +1 on eloms recomendations, there is not a lot more I could add about the guitar. Just try some out, would agree with the bronco but do try out some full size ones, you may be suprised. My westone thunder is only has 20 frets and the fretboard is only 24 inches long, and you can pick them up for around the £100 to £150 mark, (and thats for an active version). there are many other options you will be recommended, when shopping for it, don't be presurised in to what the salesman pushes on you, just try a few things out. As for the amps I would reccomend Roland, Ashdown or fender. Have a look around and think about what your buying, as elom said get whats right for you. best of luck Simon

  17. I normally buy Rotosound Swing bass 66 (40,60,80,100) but I have been trying out 35,55,70, 90 version. I think I like them!
  18. Linda is a good bass player and that has nothing to do with her being a woman or pleasing to the eye!

  21.
I recently realised I knew nothing about my bass, so I thought I would do some research. I think my bass would be a contender if anyone knew they existed. --- It's a 1997 Californian Series Precision special. The model was only made for two years between 1996 and 1998 and features passive vintage p/j pickups and a jazz neck. So it has a vintage (RI) tone, with a little extra versatility and ease of playability. And it receives healthy reviews on harmony-central http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...ss+Special/10/1 This one isn't mine, but I hope to spray it this colour or dark brown. Would putting covers on detract from its value? Does anyone know where you can get those spots/inserts shown on the first picture to cover the drill holes for the bridge cover? Cheers, Paul.
Thats a really nice bass Paul. I think it will be a vintage bass one day!
  22.
Thanks folks! Sorry I wasn't who you thought I might have been, Linz (you mean there might be someone else similar to me out there in Bassland? now there's a scary thought!). Just as a ps to my original introduction - my Ampeg Dan Armstrong clear plexi bass arrived yesterday - and it's gorgeous! I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm head over heels in love, I think!!!
My brother in laws name is Ian Smith and he plays the Bass! Linz is my wife, so you can imagined what she thought! (put 2+2 and got 7).
