2.
Thanks mate, I'll let you know if/when I decide to sell it
Ha!!! Was I really that transparent!
3.
Just plugged it in for a while. It has that lovely and woody pre-CBS Precision tone, very reminiscent of the intro to 'One of These Nights' by the Eagles (and of course someone will now come on and tell me that the part in question was recorded using a Ric, but either way, this bass has that lovely organic tone). I don't know anything about the woods, but closer inspection suggests it's probably not quite the budget instrument I thought it was, I love the veneer between front and back (no idea why it's there though?). Despite having quite heavy flats it's also effortless to play (I believe the term du jour is 'like butter'). So, for the cost of a Squier I've got a rather lovely vintage Precision in lovely condition. Rather chuffed Might think about a black pickguard though! I've been after one of these for years to add to my vintage Yamaha collection...enjoy.
4.
My Fender American Deluxe Precision is black and maple...you are right, its a very nice colour indeed - very Roger Waters.
I had a Fender Deluxe in black and maple too...great bass but I prefer my old BB Yamaha's...However I have an urge for a Bass Collection to my own specs...shame they haven't got a maple neck with 21 frets...
5. Looks fantastic...those bass collection basses are pretty good... Love a black and maple...With reversed pick ups... Mmm got me thinking now, was it expensive? Chris ward is a legend...I always used to go and get me basses sorted by him...In fact he set up my Shergold 6ix string bass before they moved from Aldgate...still haven't had to touch it!!!
6.
Well I just got my first HB bass today and I have to say I am very impressed. Considering its a sub £100 bass it plays wonderfully and sounds really nice through my amp. The only down side is that it is heavy - even more so than my Squire P-bass, and its got a bit of neck-dive. However, for playing while sitting down on the couch of an evening its a real gem.
What bass did you get???
7. Ooooh I like the look of these...might help in scratching an ich for a Stingray... failing that a nice little upgrade project...
8. Oh this is a beauty....I'd love to add this to my BB collection!!!
9.
I really like BB's, but I'm no expert on them. This one caught my eye - what clues make you say that? Thanks Geoff
Hello Geoff, Firstly Yamaha only made them in red or a dark green...also a limited run of black. The BB 1200 was produced in sunburst and natural... also they have oval fret markers not dot markers... Dot markers were on the BB1000S. There are two stripes running through the bass not one...again one on the BB1000S... The BB1000S is passive not active with just a volume, tone control and pick up selector...
10. This is not a BB1200S bass... This is a modified BB1000s bass
11. Ohhh these basses sound fantastic!!! Right number of frets... and great colour choices... If they were 34 inch scale and just slightly bigger (for this lanky streak) I'd be all over these...
12. I've got a tech 21 bass boost chorus for sale...
13. Ooooh I like that!!! Mmmmmmm I'll have to keep my eyes open for one of those....

18. Andy contacted me after seeing my ad for a Fender 50's Precision bass... I usually check people out that are selling, but I could tell straight away that Andy was on the level... In fact I felt like I known him for years such was the friendlyness of his emails... What of the bass...? Just what I wanted and in great condition... and more importantly well packed. It could take a full load of photon torpedoes from a Klingon bird of prey and not look ruffled!! Buy with complete confidence!!!
19. Thanks mate it was an absolute pleasure doing business with you.... I'll leave feed back for you as well Many thanks Ian.
