  1. I really should buy the controller for the 210... I think the 210 is a great amp... tbh I've not delved tooo deep with it as I only use it for noodling... one thing that annoys me about the 210, is the choice of only two signal chains... and infuriatingly you can't move things about within it... for example I'd have chorus at the start if I wanted to go full on Peter Hook... I've seen that the 500 has the same two signal chains... Despite that I'm still intrigued by the 500... I look forward to hear how you're getting on with it... Did you buy the 112 cab too?
  2. Have got the foot controller for the 500?? So tempted by this amp... I just wish it had the effects loop , power amp in etc like my Katana 210...
  3. Spot on...IMHO... I use the the 1200/ S live to this day ... fantastic basses

  5. Yep spot on re the 734a.... I remember how intense 734a pre amp was... I could get the Hooky tone and sooo much more. I'm with you about the BBPH... its almost...almost as good as the BB1200S... I must admit I've been treating the BBPH like a delicate flower... only using it in my studio... but f**k that its coming out on the road with me... these beauty's were built to be played and gigged etc... I love the 424... I got one as a back up for when I was feeling tooo precious about taking my vintage BB 1200s /1200... Have you any pix of your 424 ...?
  6. It's fantastic... I love it... a bit more bass and treble than the BB1200S...
  7. Unfortunately no.... only on the BBPH...
  8. Yes it is odd... but tbh I've never really liked pick guards.... if I ever find a cheapish second hand black 734A, I'll colour it in like your good self.... Actually I'd like to reverse the P pups and get the hole filled along with the pick guard screw holes and then resprayed in matte black...whoops sorry I seem to have gone of on a tangent there!!
  9. I'd prefer rhe 734a without a pick guard tbh.... but this does look better than the 3ply edge....
  10. No new colours for the 734/5a basses???
  11. Hmmm that's interesting. When I get a chance I'll measure 424 against my BBPH.. With regards to feel , I prefer the 424 to the 734a/BBPH. If I had list my preferences it would go.... 1200/S the best ... feels like home (to me) 424 feels quite familiar 734a/ BBPH nothing wrong with them but feels smaller/ lighter ....
  12. BA left his bass at Heathrow....thats one of Jacks basses.
  13. Andy, where did you get the pick guard from... I'm hoping to get a Yamaha pick guard made , but with reversed pick ups for a project...
  14. This is all it says on the back of mine...
  15. I've just picked up a 210 Katana, really impressed with it so far... its soooo tweakable. Brilliant bit of kit.. I may have to find a trolley to take it gigs with though as its a little heavy....
