1. This dude is too good. Singing harmonies and tapping at the same time!

5. Identical rig to mine (drivers excluded). Not overly keen on the cabs, but the head is fantastic
6.
Interesting you say the Stingray is perfect for punk. I found the total oppersite and found it too twangy, especially with a pick. I found a Precision with a pick is perfect for punk.
I meant the Fenders are perfect for punk!
7. I play in a hardcore/metal band (play in drop C) and my Peavey Jazz bass, whilst heavy enough, doesn't quite sound right for me. So that's why I'm getting after an OLP/Stingray because that tone is what I want. I would get a Fender but the cuts aren't deep enough and it doesn't suit my playing style for this music as much. For punk, they're spot on. And I can't stand those twangy stereotypical metal basses 15 year olds play. The Ibanez types and whatnot, they sound disgusting!
8. I've had both, have the EVOIII now. Agree, the compressor is shocking, so I don't use it but other than that it's really more of the same powerful, full of tone, Ashdown sound. I only really upgraded from EVOII because I got a cab and the pedal board with it for a bargain price!

10. I've acquired two SD pedals... a Black Dog and the Tweed E one. However, I have no need for them. I gather these are fairly rare, but are they sought after? What kind of money should I look to sell them for? (I need funds for a new bass!)

12. Bump. Quality amp here! Needs to be sold Willing to discuss a cheaper price if there's any interest...
13. Whatever happens, it's shocking customer service. It's a pickguard for f*** sake, and they are only going to lose future custom if that is how they treat customers.
14. Got love for this thread. Architects are the best new band in ages. Converge just never fail to be brilliant.
15. I've had this a couple of years, it has NEVER been gigged and it has been used for about 10 2 hour practices, so not much at all. Everything works fine, it's a great sounding amp and cosmetically, apart from a couple of tiny scuffs on the metal corner caps, it's looking good too. I'm looking for £220 ono, cash on collection... I would deliver for cost if within a reasonable distance (East Midlands). PM me if you want to discuss things further!

Howdy!

I think I saw Buzzkill a long, long time ago. Might even have some kind of demo cd somewhere!
17. Thrice have some good ones. They mess around with times a lot. Examples: 'Trust' is 5/4 (I think) verses with a 6/8 chorus. Cold Cash And Colder Hearts has a 5/4 breakdown/outro Silhouette is 6/8 (really awesome drum beat with the hi hat or cymbals doing every beat and the kick drum playing an off beat rhythm) and then has 4/4 and 7/8 parts. I think the Melting Point of Wax and Abolition Of Man have changing time sigs too. A Subtle Dagger has something in 5 too I think I could go on, they have loads.
18. I too need a good distortion pedal as the ODB3 is a bit pants. Those MetalDrive clips are a a tad muffly aren't they? Maybe it's just the recording, the pedal sounds like it has potential.
19. Top amp, crushing rock sounds! I have one which I'm selling to the guitarist in my band for £400. I picked up a Mesa Dual instead Wallet wasn't happy mind.
20. Tempted to up my budget and get a Sterling or a Schecter. Too many bloody choices
21. Just keep at it would be my advice! My new band... we've been practicing a few times a month since about June and we're just putting the finishing touches to our 5 song set One of our songs is about 3 minutes long and I counted 18 different riffs/parts in it... it took me a while to learn all that and I pick things up pretty quickly. Lord knows how many times we've had to stop songs half way through, play from halfway through, play specific bits, talk through bits that need changing etc etc We can see the light at the end of the tunnel though... it'll all be worthwhile in the end!
22. Cool, thanks for that. I'm not in a hurry to get a new bass, so I'll keep my eye out for those whilst I'm hunting!
23. That looks very nice and sounds excellent... almost the perfect amount of punch I'm looking for. Shame the dealer is a couple of hours away! I hadn't heard of Lakland before, so you've now added to my dilemna!
