  1. That album was not a “congregation live” recording. GK singing verses mostly solo, with b/vs coming in on chorus/harmonies. In my experience (again back in the day) many of the “live” CCW recordings were studio recorded, with a congregation recorded singing along to the recording after. I’ve no idea how things are done these days however 🙏
  2. Back in the late 80’s I was recording with a certain WL who’s series of albums were nicknamed by the band “Make way (for my bank balance)”. If you’re under 50, this is likely lost on you…. However, the guide vocals on one song of the Christmas album, I noticed the line “send invitations.. to all the Alsatians”. The German shepherd is obviously favoured amongst Christendom.
  3. Maybe I’m underpricing it 😂 Always happy to take more?
  4. I’ll check when I can access the bathroom. 👍🏻
  5. Hi @Scoobs the nut measures at 40mm, so between jazz and P?
  6. Cheers Nick. Facing a couple of things at the moment, but NHS is brilliant despite the pressure they’re under.
  7. Hey @Shaggy looks like one piece
  8. One young worship leader used to use “There is a day” by Phatfish a lot. However he always sang “clothed in immorality” until some spoilsport pointed out that “immortality” was the correct lyric. The fact that his father (who was the pastor) didn’t notice, made it funnier.
  9. Having complete clear out. Sting-a-like fretless P. G&B Ash body Unknown P neck large plate vintage tuners SD Vintage P pup Schaller style strap locks Plays great, sounds great, looks cool Has a cheeky “Finder” decal in a certain style. £250, owes me more. But need to move all my stuff. Not posting sorry, I don’t have the time or patience with current circumstances. Happy to meet up Bath/Bristol/Bridgwater.
  10. Looks like an early Marco Di Philippi
  11. Looking on TB, the “made by Höfner”narrative seems to be supported. I have no idea if it was said once, then copied and pasted thereafter, like much of the internets “facts”. Intriguing little bass though. 😎
  12. Liking this. Not so much the short scale though. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144531899530?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=o6dCGPhITKe&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=apR0TlihRse&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  13. Another flight of fancy from Alex?
  14. Need someone to buy my Ashdown neo combo.
  15. Interested in this first time round. Ooh tempting, you’re not far either. 🤔
  16. Although I stopped playing in church a few years ago for many reasons, some listed above, I think it’s fair to say not everyone’s experience is negative. So don’t let mine and others frustrations put you off. Perhaps it’s about laying out your expectations and listening to your new church’s expectations and seeing if they match, or compromise can be reached. So much goes unsaid and much is assumed, and I think this is a shaky foundation. You want to play with others, maybe your new church environment is the place, maybe it isn’t. You’ll only know if you find out some more info. If it transpires that it’s not even after you have “joined” a rota. It’s ok to stop, it really is. Hope you find some peeps to play with, whether it’s at St Kevin’s on a Sunday morning or The Kebab and Calculator on a Saturday night (or both). P&L
  17. Played one of these once week for 10 years. Cracking basses, well made and wide tonal range.
  18. Mr Dart is a funky player, but…. Why is Mark Ronson overdubbing the voices?

  20. I am the youngest of 3 boys. My brothers were 9 & 10 years older than me. I became aware and interested in what they were listening to when I was about 9-10 years old in about 1970-71. So I was influenced by their record collection and excited when they brought something new into the house. One was into rock and the other into choral music and lighter vocal pop. So my introduction into music ranged from Cream, The Who, Hendrix, Free through to Bach, Manhattan Transfer, Helen Reddy & early Elton John. I still love all of the above. After that, it was mates purchases as I didn’t listen to radio and only occasionally watched TOTPs (although Bowie performing Star Man had a huge impact on my musical and stylistic sensibilities). Watching Slade in Flame also massively influenced me and a mate to start a band.
  21. That’s so you can get your big hands through at least one sleeve.
  22. No likey for a uk built lightweight power house combo?
