Seriously Dave?? Get changed??? You don’t call in at a late night food outlet on way home in Spandex, eyeliner and perm? Lazy bugger! 😊

Ok so gigged last night with my fusion trio. Really enjoyed it, audience enjoyed it. So why did I enjoy it, when I “hate gigging”. It was 2 miles from my front door, we were finished and away by 10:00, home by 10:30 via McDonald’s. So it’s not necessarily I hate gigging then? I just hate the travelling and hours of “hanging around” for an hour or so of playing. Conclusion? I’m just a lazy sod 😂

Every gig I’ve played at, at least 80% of the audience complain about the musicians with iPads/tablets on stage. The amount of letters, emails and correspondence in the broad sheets venting their fury, is overwhelming. I remind the band that we are playing for the benefit of the musicians lurking in the darkened corners, not the great unwashed unknowing philistines. 🙄

Sorry can’t help. But love their cakes.

Same here. Also you generally know by someone’s reaction whether they’re likely to repeat the behaviours that led to dismissal in the first place. Had a few that just went round different departments/regions getting booted out. Some who took on board feedback and adjust attitude and behaviour, tend to be better for it.

Played this past couple of days, rehearsing for gig next Thursday. The bass itself feels very heavy, a little unbalanced on the knee, but with a decent wide strap balances better. Gig will be sat on a tall stool, not sure if I’d want to be stood up for too long with my dodgy back. The neck was what I was really after, and had already planned a scheme of getting a nice P body to attach it too. However, the jazz body kind of “makes sense” somehow and the wizards with the KiOgon loom are astonishing. Probably the best jazz pups/loom combo I’ve played. I often find a bridge pup solo’d to be a little weak, but it’s lovely and aggressive and still retains depth. Harmonics are beautifully clear and both pups have a nice balance. The neck feels substantial in my hand, with a typically confident, smooth feel to the ebony board and a “darker” tone unplugged that translates nicely when amplified. Looking forward to hearing it at the gig through FOH and recorded.

Yes, thank you, a beautiful but much maligned car. Oh, the bass !! Yes it is….😂

To be fair, I used to get my DB in a micra. Not a lot else…

Hold on Nick we are talking about the same thing? 😂

Lol the Probe! Loved that car, if Microsoft designed cars it would look like that Probe. However (sadly) it went to “live on a farm to play with all the others” and so I had to buy a sensible car. I’m very much hoping that I remain unturned by anything else, now I have reached neck Xanadu. Hope you’re keeping well? 😊

@Beedster Inevitably it has ended up at my gaff, thanks to @alyctes Should have bought it in the first place. Unlined ebony P width neck, zenith… 😂😂

Absolutely yes! I’d definitely lend him your bass. I wouldn’t lend him mine though.
