9.
Don't worry about it mate This happens three times a year on Basschat, it's the Battle of Britain with the sight-reading Spitfire pilots shooting the dirty and illiterate non-readers in their 109s. It's a good thing, everyone lets a bit of steam out their valves and it all calms down later and everyone is friends again, until four months later
I guess I'm Douglas Bader in a Spitfires then.....none of my posts leave me with a leg to stand on.

 13.
In an originals scenario, I find being able to write music down incredibly useful, especially if we've failed to record a rehearsal. If we jam out something pretty complicated, there's no danger of forgetting it because I can scribble it down in a few seconds. And obviously it then helps to be able to read it again afterwards.
This is a good point. The ability to write parts down has been enormously helpful at times. In 35 years of playing in "bands" though, I have rarely been presented with a score, the most recent was on a small tour this summer when I had no time to rehearse. It was very useful to be able to read then. If I was doing shows, or as someone else said, the rest of a band communicated as a whole with score, then not reading could be a handicap. Although Nigel gets away with it! Despite what I hear some people say.....reading music does NOT stifle your creativity maaaan...in my experience it enhances your vocabulary, and after all, are we not all trying to communicate......oooh, that was pretentious...get me!
 14.
Congratulations on purchasing a cab that can produce brown notes!
15. Thanks guys, I'll give all the suggestions a go. Had worried about damp cloth Bill, but that's reassuring. John
 16. Cleaning a recently acquired used PJ Briefcase, I noticed behind the grill was a bit grubby. Took the grill off and the driver cones are covered in dried mud.! Any ideas on how to clean it off? Whilst I'm happy with the sound of the combo, I don't think mud on the speakers is "helpful". Ta, John
 17. Bought a used one here, took delivery last week. Sounds great, but every time I turn it off, it "farts". When I turn it back on it's fine and sounds great even "maxed out". And gigged it Saturday night and my usually fussy guitarists loved the sound. Contacted previous owner and Phil Jones, but had no replies. Anyone other briefcase owners had the same noise? Also I've taken the front grill off today to give it a bit of a clean as it looked a bit grubby, and noticed there's dried mud on the speakers....any ideas of how best to clean that off?? Thanks, John
 18.
Why did you get rid of your black one then?
Twice J, twice I bought and sold the black'n both to buy P basses which I subsequently sold on!! I'm counting to ten on this one, as I really don't have the money and don't need it either....but they just call to me, the little minx's Might end up selling the PJ briefcase.

 22. Buy it, buy it now M.O.T.H. .....................I can't afford a divorce! Seriously good bass for that money...flattest profile neck I've ever played, so easy.
 23. Oh mannn! Why are you tempting me like this B, you know these are my weakness!!?? PM'd
 24. Rob bought a Spector NS94. Very patient while I tried to sort out a machine head issue. Anyway great, easy transaction, good fella to deal with. Yeah Bob, gig was fun, as usual at Eli's. Cheers, john
 25. Gigged my recently acquired Phil Jones briefcase last night. The quartet is made up of 2 guitarists, 1 singer and moi on DB. Playing mainly swing/Django stuff. Thought it might be a little under powered, so I was prepared for DI'ing in PA. But the little blighter rocked, loads of bottom end. I placed it against the wall, as suggested and it blew me away. Probably wouldn't be sufficient with a bigger band, with drums though. But clear precise sound.... A very happy slapper! John
